Too, too funny.  I knew I wasn't alone in the world.  About 10 years ago I bought a long bed toyota 2WD pickup for a little less than 2 pills.  It was one of the last ones they made that was carburated, they went to injection the next year.  My wife hated that little truck and in the 7 years I drove it she never sat in it.  I took some really peaceful trips in that thing.  LOL

Might have to buy another one soon.  LOL

Hi Dave,  funny you mention the beaters. I'm into old Honda's. I have numerous in the yard and barn. :)  Have less than 1/2 tied up in 5 dependable cars than most have tied up in 1.  I'd drive any of them to California tomorrow.  Only wish I could afford to insure all of them :)  That handful of pills would cover insurance and gas for a good while. :)

Nice (expensive) pic Chris.  I never purchased a new car until I was in my thirties. Old beaters were cool with me as long as they ran and I couldn't see through the floor boards.  Every morning now when I'm about to shovel that pill into my mouth I can't help but think that I could buy a "new" car with the pill I'm taking.  I could own a complete junk yard by the time I finished treatment with this stuff.

At 35K every three weeks I can't disagree with you.  Without Medicare D and a generous grant from Patient Access Network Foundation I'd have never been able to afford it.  Free is hard to beat!

Very good to hear this, Dave, what a boost to know the treatment is working so well!

Harvoni comes with an astronomical price tag but it certainly does its job.  smile

I'll keep keep taking those $1000+ pills.  It'll be awesome to get my sputtering liver back in a healthier environment again.  Nice to have the virus down where it's at now.

Next task... the damn cirrhosis.

Hey Dave,

Congrats buddy, woohoo!! The fact that you achieved an undetectable viral load so soon is an indication that you're looking at a very positive end of treatment response. We call it SVR! Good luck dude, this is great news....

4 1/2 weeks of Harvoni.  Not bad for 35K.
