Congratulations Gypsy Soul!  Seems like this train may never stop for maintenance. With all the Undetected's and SVR's, maybe now it's time we invest in one big ol' Cruise Ship. WOW...what a year to be alive.

Happy Thanksgiving to all. And please......EAT TOOOOO MUCH!!!   biggrin

Hi Gypsy,

Yes, the report stated that almost 80% (78) of relapses occurred during the first 4 weeks following EOT. Concordance between SVR 4, 12 and 24:

"In a retrospective analysis of data from five phase III trials of sofosbuvir-containing regimens (with and without peginterferon) in 863 patients with HCV infection (genotypes, 1?6), investigators assessed the concordance between SVR at 4 weeks (SVR4) and SVR12, concordance between SVR12 and SVR24, and positive-predictive and negative-predictive values (PPV and NPV).

The concordance of SVR4 and SVR12 was 98% (PPV, 98%; NPV, 100%). The concordance of SVR12 and SVR24 was >99% (PPV, >99%; NPV, 100%). Over three fourths (78%) of patients who relapsed post-therapy did so within the first 4 weeks."

Congratulations!!!!!!

I will finish Tx Dec 4th......WOO-HOO!! I have been undetected since week 2.

My EOT lab will be Dec 8th...so I asked when the next lab would be after that.....

and she said they will do an EOT 4. If that is still undetected...more than likely that if

you relapse it will be in that time period. Sound right??????

You're correct. Once SVR4 is achieved, the likelihood of SVR12 is almost equal. They haven't established SVR4 as the standard, because the relapses that have been recorded, tend to occur within that 12 week post treatment period. Used to be EOT+24, then +12 became the standard for SVR. With the similarity we're seeing between the rates of SVR4 and 12, that may be the next determining timeline in the future. In the meantime, the probability should give people a lot of hope and encouragement. Right now though, getting your providers to do the test at EOT week +4 has been met with some resistance because the standard remains the week 12 viral load.

Reading the report (http://hepatitiscnewdrugs.blogspot.com/2015/01/sofosbuvir-based-regimens-for-hcv-svr12.html) it seems that SRV 4 should be almost the same at predicting a cure as SRV12.

So happy to hear about your success.

Hey, thanks again. What a relief.  Mentally I have been feeling a lot better. I have been telling friend and family that I feel "happy" and that I feel "more Love".  In my mind I was thinking, "bet the virus is gone".  Have felt so relaxed and like my body doesn't want to jump out of itself.  Feel like I have more to give back than at any other time in my life. We are so fortunate to have lived long enough for this cure. Bless those who suffered and moved on.  I thank all of you for your support. And yes, wmlj1960, it did feel like Dr. Frankenstein.  Have names to choose from for excellent Dr.s with excellent recommendations.  Hope everyone has a Lovely Day of Thanksgiving for all we have and our opportunity to live in the United States. The young people of today remind of ourselves in there wisdom and determination to make the world a better place to live. WE are all Blessed.

Grouper, we could go on a charter boat out under the Gate and go north a bit, big kings and reefs with black, red, and rock cod.  Matt, went through the tunnel to the other side on an od in 69, never had felt such unconditional love and forgiveness for all. At first was a bit miffed that I came back.  Glad I came back now. Marsha

I'm so happy for you...I felt so bad with what you were going through and have been waiting for this good news. What an incredible sigh of relief you must have breathed when you got the news! Congratulations. Although the gold standard is still 24 weeks EOT...with Harvoni there is something like only .03% difference between 12 and 24 weeks so relax...it's pretty much the same.

Hey Thanks Everyone!  You held me up when I felt so down. I really appreciate the Whoots.  Will keep you posted on the blood results, should get them first of week. Tig, is SVR at 12 weeks?  Is the gold standard still 6 months? Thank You, Marsha

This is absolutely awesome, all the crap you went through with Dr Frankenstein and being told you failed treatment and now this. What a marvelous end to such an emotionally traumatizing ride. I am so happy for you Marsha. Well done with hanging in there like a true warrior! Enjoy your Hep C free life to the fullest! Party Time!!!

So, it's really more than undetected, it's also SVR 12, right?  What a strange way to get there!  What a blessing, however you got there.

WOW, WOW, WOW!!!!  This is the best news I could've hoped to hear from you Marsha. I had that feeling the entire time, that your EOT results weren't the end of the road for you. Your results just kept me on the high side of confidence and my gut feeling was right. I don't think I could be any happier than I am right now! Congratulations my friend, if you're flying any higher than I am right now, you better hang on!! This is great!!
