 We would love to have Mr Yisrael as a member but to ask him through the previously mentioned support group would be in violation of that groups rules about solicitation of their members - just as this group has similar rules. smile

FYI: He is currently being treated with 12 wks Harvoni + Riba (SOT 12-17-15). His 4 wk viral load result was UND.

Mr Zion lives in Detroit Mi, As per a post he made today he has a 75% chance of the VA treatin him! There is enough funding for 8 people and there are 12-16 needing it. There is an awesome FB group called "hepatitis c treatment w/o borders" he is in. Plus it is an awesome group that has helped many people get treatment! FB users check it out!

I'm not aware of the contact information for Mr. Israel either. I did find this contact number for CBS Audience Services, you may be able to obtain more information there. However, I have a feeling that after this nationwide broadcast, the VA will hopefully have a change in attitude toward his care. Thanks for your care and compassion...

I would very much like to contact Mr. Zion Israel and see if I can help him afford his needed medications. Does anyone have any ideas how I can get in contact with him? The CBS report did not say in what city or state he lives.

I saw it too and glad to see something like this on TV!  I was trying to find a link to the report to post it here...I couldn't find it.  But it was on CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley and the report was done by Chip Reid.

 They said only 35,000 Vets have been treated so far, that equals only 15%....

 According to CBS News, Price of Sovaldi / Harvoni is too high for VA Hospital to afford to treat patients. Dr Raymond F. Schinazi, a 7/8 employee of the department of veterans affairs made $400 + million when he sold his pharmaceutical company (Pharmasset) in 2012 to Gilead for $11.4 billion. In a 2013 trade journal, Schinazi said that it only cost $1400 to manufacture the medication for 12 weeks of treatment.

"Gilead more interested in profits than patients".
"Cost of treatment $84k - VA gets 50% discount but still can't afford to treat everyone who needs it".

 I'm glad to see this on the national television news.
