Gifthealth,

So far so great!!! I am really looking forward to hearing from you in the not too distant future with more test results. For now, things couldn't be better and your news has made my day. Thanks for your post and your wonderfully positive spirit.

CONGRATULATIONS!!

How fabulous is that kind of news? I know you're elated and so am I! Those kinds of reports and phone calls never get old, trust me. I can remember the nerves and they're going to last for awhile, it's just part of the process. But it's a process that is a most enjoyable part of the journey. It'll be a memory that always brings a smile to your face smile

The Sovaldi clears quick, generally within a week, but the Ribavirin will take the longest to clear your system. You can expect about a 6 month clearance period, so continue to be cautious in the sunshine and watch for those moments when the irritability tries to get in the way. It took me an entire year to finally be clear of that stuff, but as you've already noticed, improvements begin right away. Each day will be better, but don't rush yourself. It took months to get to this point, and will take an equal amount of time to get back to Olympic form!

You're right about the EOT+4 viral load, if it's undetected, it's essentially identical to the EOT+12 rates of success. I don't think you've got a thing to do now except wait for the good news and polish your dancing shoes!!

I completed 3 months of Sovaldi and Ribavirin 5 days ago for the treatment of my HVC Genotype 2. I had a viral load test at 1 month into treatment and it came back "undetectable". Well, my doctor called this morning to inform me that my end of treatment viral load test was also "UNDETECTABLE".  I know that the most important viral load test will be at 3 months post treatment (although I have read that the one month post treatment test is virtually as reliable as the 3 month test). I plan to get my next test in one month.

The Ribavirin is starting to leave my system, but I am still very tired and anemic. I am feeling a little better every day. It is a surreal feeling to hear my doctor tell me that my viral load test came back undetectable. As I am sure all of us in this group can understand, living with HVC in our bodies for so many years causes a mental shift about how we see ourselves and how we think about our futures. Today I feel elated, astonished, amazed, and very, very thankful.

I will be sure to post my future test results in one month and again in three months and I plan to provide the same wonderful news. I want to thank everyone in this group for your participation in posting your stories and concerns. Reading your postings has helped me through my journey. I share all of my positive energy and excitement that I have today with YOU.
