I have been Finished with treatment for 6 months. I got my "SVR". Undetected. But during treatment and post treatment I had the worst fatigue, both physically and mentally. I would get heart palpitations and had s combination of anxiety and depression as well. also post treatment my testosterone levels dropped to that of an 80 year old diabetic man.266. Before treatment I was 600. So my doctor has had me on testosterone therapy for two months and I'm feeling better, some days better than others. But I still experience some fatigue and brain fog. It's extremely frustrating. I am noticing improvement though so I'm keeping the faith and remamining positive. Just wanted to touch on this subject because it seems weird that I'm still going through this. Wondering if anyone else has had similar side effects. I know everyone is different. Harvoni is s blessings but it's so new I'm not sure we're being told everything about post treatment or long term effects. so any feedback would be great:) thanks guys! God bless you all!!

I remember your posts about this a few months ago and actually have been wondering how you have been doing...if there has been any improvement? I'm glad you saw this and posted. I am slowly coming around but "slowly" is not an exaggeration...baby steps. I've been on HRT for years and have decided to give it a break for a while to see if it helps. I'm getting desperate to get to the root of this and have also stopped my heart meds to see if that is causing me problems. I've also dropped the sleeping meds. It's crazy how good I felt up until I stopped the Harvoni and then this. This is week 4 of no exercise after 20 straight years of regular weight-lifting (even at my age I would bench press anywhere from 225 to 315 lbs...now i just rest). I need to nap most days and find it hard to get going afterwards. I've decided to treat myself as hypoglycemic and started buying cookies to see if regular sugar boosts help. This past summer I would go for 3 hr walks with my dog most days...that was on top of a pretty honest weight training regiment. Today I got in an hour and a quarter...about as much as I do these days. I will be 10 weeks post tx Wednesday...hopefully this will pass. After reading it's been 6 months for you now...I really don't expect any quick improvements. I would really like to know why this happens to some...what cause this.

No further tests are necessary.  I always enjoyed hearing the good news if the doc wanted to do one. I had them at 6 months and 1 year, because that was the norm back then. Now SVR 12 is the new standard. Your dragon is dead, I'm sure of that! Enjoy the Hep free road ahead! Good luck, Steven...

Thanks Tig.. I got my SVR st 12 weeks and haven't had any more blood work done. The Doctor said I'm cured of Hep c and it can NEVER COME Back unless I'm reexposed to it. my next appointment with him is May for the 1 year testing. But I'm just going to take his word and your word that SVR is cured. The stress of all that has affected me but I am grateful to be getting back to normal. Let me know if you think I should request another test sooner. But I just want to be done stressing and move forward. The side effects aren't pleasant but they are getting bet. Thanks for all your support!

Hey Steven,

Glad to hear from you again! We have a thread started to collect and share information on the long term effects. Check it out and leave your story. Thanks buddy and congrats again on your SVR24! The rest of it will come around, it just takes time. More than we'd like, that's for sure! But you're getting there and to me, it sounds like you're doing pretty good. Here's a link to that thread. I bumped it up too.

Hi Jaded,

sorry you are having so much fatigue. I would think that it's your body adjusting to no meds. These are very powerful drugs we are taking and it would take awhile to get clear of them. As you've seen throughout your treatment, the symptoms change over time, so hopefully as your liver continues to heal, it will steadily improve. Keep up whatever exercise you can manage and keep drinking lots of water. I bet this will get better as the weeks go on.

Very glad you continue to be und!

The year prior to tx (Harvoni 24 weeks) I experienced a significant increase of fatigue. Within a few days of SOT it pretty much all went away. I did have increased fatigue about 8 weeks into tx..not as bad as prior to tx for about 6 weeks which I thought I had resolved with an increase of hydration. During the final 2 weeks of the 24 I had an increase of fatigue again but thought it was due to exercising so much harder. About a week after tx I had a really big drop of energy which has not improved. I will be 8 weeks EOT on the 24th and have stopped exercising 2 weeks ago except for walking and feel like crap. I asked my Dr if this is normal and he said no that others are not experiencing this and I should follow-up with a GP.

All my tests are in the normal range and I have been undetected since week 4 of tx. I feel worse now EOT than I did during tx...I expected to feel better. Some days are better than others...but what happens is I get tired and nap only to wake up feeling even more tired than I did before the nap and can't get going. I'm in really good physical shape and have been a regular gym rat for the last 20 years so it's not due to a sedentary lifestyle.  I was actually wondering if I was relapsing while waiting for my 4 weeks EOT results because I felt so bad..but thank God I remained undetected. It's kind of of strange/disappointing how I feel so much worse EOT than during tx. There is nothing I can do except wait and hope it passes.
