Hi Lisa, looks like I will be waiting untill next year 2017 to get the  sof-Vel-vox

Its expected to be FDA next year.   With my history this is the only combo I have a shot at that will stop the virus. Things seem to get complicated with me, never really been normal.

they knocked me out for my liver bio two years ago, thank god for that!    RC

Eeeek, I'm glad I dodged that bullet, a biopsy was my limit thank you! I went so pale and started shaking because I was stupid enough to look at the damn needle as the Doctor walked away with it. That thing was MASSIVE, it was like a horror movie with all their gear on and a bloody dripping needle. Arghh such sweet memories to leave behind lol!

Thanks for the wishes, I hope to see you at that station this year, you're not allowed to miss the train this time!

Thank you Jimmy, it is deeply appreciated. I will be very happy to yell it in the street once I am UND. I have never been secret about my diagnoses, although I haven't actually worn a banner, and told every living soul on the planet - it would take too long. ;)

It has taught me a lot having this disease, not just about disease, but people, fear and ignorance. I can honestly say in many ways it has made me a better person.

I hope to see you and your wife at the station, I need to chick a glass with everyone - sorry its only going to be fruit juice, but it will be a very tasty one. :D x

Well I was surprised as you folk, I never did anything special, I had three blighters that were giving a little jip, but it seems my diet which is actually high in olive oil and lemon (I never knew that Sherri) must have done the trick. I love the Italian approach to food, except I use gluten free pasta, or soya pasta. I was pretty shocked to hear again no swelling, and no fibroses. I guess the pain and dark urine was all related to the stones that were passing. I was feeling pretty nauseous before my tests and even that has resolved.

I know I am a very lucky person to be internally so healthy for someone with long term infection. It is a very strange disease indeed as it affects everyone differently. I know some people even though chronic die of old age, and others progress gradually on the fibroses stage. Is it to do with individual genetics? For the life of me, after 20 years I have no clue why I have no scarring. I should add, very happy about it though!

Stones do hurt I can testify that too, but I assumed it was a swollen liver. Half the time, I don't know what is normal, hep related or getting old. Soon I will know once I arrive at that station! :D

Thank you for all the support, it will be a doddle after my last stint, I shall never forget my husband chasing me around the table with my interferon shots as I am scared of needles, it was quiet funny looking back at the cat and mouse chase! :P

Boarding very soon :D x

It's in the name: Loopy Lisa.  All she has to do is put her mind to it and then blast those stones away!

Very interesting, thanks Sherri.  I know it`s extremely painful if a stone causes a blockage in the bile duct, and it has to be dealt with very quickly., so it`s far better if you can possibly take preventive measures.  You must have been very pleased to hear that your stones had gone!  I`ll certainly give that remedy a go.

It is fairly common to have gallstones beyond a certain age, yes you`re right, and I`ve also read that there is thought to be an association between HCV and gallstones.

Cinnamon Girl - Regarding passing and clearing gallstones. A friend of mine had gallstones were blocking biliary flow and was in a lot of pain. Her doctor immediately wanted her to have it surgically removed, as is so common these days. She chose to treat it first and if not successful, then have it removed. She just did the standard lemon juice with olive oil treatment. The gallstones passed and that was 5 years ago. I did this treatment a long time ago when I learned that most people do have gallstones by the time they are 40 even though most stones don't cause any problems. I passed a bunch of stuff that looked like pea gravel. When I had my ultrasound recently, it said no evidence of cholelithiasis (gall stones). I am 54, so was happy to see that.

Hi Lisa, I`m amazed too that you`ve cleared those gallstones on your own!  I haven`t heard of anyone doing that before, it`s very good news though!  My gallbladder is full of stones, so I`ve been told every time I`ve had an US scan.  Luckily they`re not causing me any trouble ... so far anyway!

I`m glad to hear you`re getting your water supplies ready.  Yes it is quite a boring drink although you can add a small amount of juice to make it taste more interesting, and remember that fruit teas or green tea are also hydrating if you like a warm drink.

Sorry you lost your pretty dog Zorak, he had a good long life though, and sounds like you`re having a lot of fun with your naughty pumpkin!!

Very best of luck, I`m sure this will be like a walk in the park compared to last time!  smile

Hi Lisa,

That's really good news! How in the world did you pass those gallstones? They usually are too big to pass through the neck of the gall bladder. It's like peeing out a marble! I hope they were small in size, but still that had to have been causing you a lot of discomfort. I'm so glad you got an all clear. That will make life much easier. My gall bladder quit working and had to come out. I noticed significant relief afterwards.

We're ready to see those improved reports and get you moving forward with treatment. Finally!! Good luck, this time is going to be your ticket to success!

Thanks Scruffy,

Gosh the horror days of TX eeek! I don't know how you got to the finish line, I can't imagine being too excited for 48 weeks of that!!!

I lost him a few years ago now at the grand age of 14. He was my pride and joy bless him, but forever my puppy at heart. I have another dog she is the naughtiest pumpkin on the planet. She loves to raid bins, dig holes in the garden, pee everywhere if I leave her behind, barks if she is alone, will do anything for a cookie, but is smart enough to be lazy if food is not involved, I love her to bits lol! :D

The one thing she is, is very loving, she loves me to death, so much so in fact she wants to be with me all the time. She is now 9 this year and forever a naughty puppy. :D x

Great news Lisa

I think every one gets excited to start treatment. I couldn't wait to start treatment too if you can imagine that. You should glide through it with no problems. Remember the old days here "keep your eyes on the prize" when there was just a little glimmer of light at the end of a very long tunnel.

You got this!!!!!!

p.s. That picture of your puppy always makes me smile, even through some very dark days while on TX. just saying :)

I had my scan today, and I've passed all my gallstones through. I am gallstone free YEAH! Everything looks normal, no swelling, no fibroses, kidneys are great, stomach is good. So I am left mystified why my panels are so bad, if everything looks normal? I am not complaining, but have to wait until the 7th for the second set of results from my blood and urine samples to see what is going on.

All being well, I start my meds on the 8th June and it will be for 12 weeks - no fibroses. I hope it was just passing stones that have given me the nasty stats, and they will level out. I've never had high bilirubin until now, actually its never been anything but normal on any of my panels, but I have Hep C, guess it all comes with it. The mystery continues.....

I really am excited now, I want to get those pills in my hands and start yesterday. How many people get excited for headaches? ;)

I am stocking up on water - such a boring drink, really, but I've read all the advice, so I'm going to take advantage of the knowledge.

I'm counting down now, wishing the days away - 12 weeks seems like nothing!!!

I went and bought a new swimming costume and wrap for my holiday after treatment, how is that for confidence!!! :D x
