Sorry - I've just fully read the article now and the answer is: Imperial Hospital, London.

I've got 2 friends in the UK who bought generic DAAs through FixHepC and Dr Freeman, and I'm on a mission to try and find out which hospital in the UK is following up such patients.  A doctor at my hospital mentioned this to me at an appointment in passing a while back before I even knew about the whole generics thing so I didn't think to ask at the time which hospital it is, but the doctor has now left the clinic.

I've just read this article in the Daily Mail about a patient who was followed up by Addenbroke's Hospital. The patient in the article lives in Essex, which is a different county to Oxford (where Addenbroke's is) so I wonder if this is the hospital given that most people in the UK are treated by their local NHS hospital?

Given that NHS England have placed a monthly cap on DAA expenditure and, as such, hospitals cannot adhere to the NICE guidelines (which state that everyone with HCV should be treated with DAAs regardless of fibrosis staging), I suspect more and more people will go the generic route; so it's important that they can find a way of being followed up given that most NHS hospitals are being short-sighted and refusing to do the requisite tests for people taking generics.

There is always the option of going to a private hepatologist and using a private lab  in London for the VL tests, but that will just add to the cost burden.

Thanks

Pablo
