Hi Lock,

Greetings and Welcome (back?) to the forum, glad you're here!

Looks like you've already received the standard tip and tricks re. Harvoni, just don't slack on the water intake, but I'm sure that's already engrained from your previous regimens. Sorry to hear you've had a rough go of it in the past but the good news is that Harvoni works. Should be a cake walk for ya after your past.

Congrats on getting started on Tx.

We'll be here to harass ya on your train trip (or keep ya company anyway), if for no other reason that to make the time fly untill ya reach the SVR station not too far down the line.

Catch ya later,

Dave

Great news that you are starting Harvoni.

The main thing as mentioned that you should know is that you will be just fine on it as almost all of us were / are.

Keep us posted and have a great weekend

Just to add my two cents worth glad you got started on Harvoni. I finished my 12 weeks in March and had my 12 week blood work done a week ago and another dragon bites the dust. I had no side effects during or since I finished and the only thing that changed was my appetite increased during treatment but has slacked off here lately. Energy level has increased and my motivation has returned. Sleeping the normal eight hours sure beats always taking naps. I wish you the best Lock...

Thank you all,

Just took my first pill. I take an acid blocker also so taking both in the morning with an empty stomach. I'll update my signature with recent info.

Thanks for the advice, I'll keep you all posted.

Exactly! I set my alarm for 5:55a and take Omeprazol and the Harvoni at the same time. I have been waiting mabe 25 minutes of so and hit a cup of coffee.

Must be working because at 4 weeks UND. You already know I am sure but never tale a PPI and then later take the Harvoni.

You are on it now! Best to you!

Hi Lock and glad to see you are boarding the train on this journey. I too had 2 prior failed treatments and the 12 weeks on Harvoni slayed the dragon so that is my hope for you as well. The guys gave you all the feedback I would suggest, so here's top a successful journey!

Welcome back, Lock! You've been a member for many years and unfortunately experienced some very rough treatments without success. Harvoni is good stuff, but needs to be taken for the right amount of time for best results. The others have mentioned that already and since you're just starting, your treatment can be lengthened if necessary. One thing is certain, this time around will be easy, peasy compared to Peg/Riba/Incivek! Pound the water, best advice we can give!

If possible, can you update your signature with your fibrosis stage, and any recent labs? It helps when replying. I'm glad you checked in and let us know about your latest assault on the Dragon. These are the best success rates we've seen in this battle and you've got every reason to expect good news!

 Howdy StreetGlide! RoadGlide here.

I am a 1 time failure and got approved for and am currently doing the 24 weeks. Do you know your F Score? The reason I ask is if you have failed twice before the F Score could be related and may point to a 24 week regiment as opposed to a 12.

As far as anything to know.... WATER lot's of it! 4 Liters a day and this will be a piece of cake. Any less and you may have some sides.

I am on day 64 and still in the wind so that should tell you this is quite easy. When I was on the V-Pak and RBV I was grounded pretty hard.

Welcome!

Hi Lock.   A BIG welcome back is in order.  Yep- You have been through a lot. What is this your third time at bat?  As a relapser I would think they would add riba.  The triples of today are not like the one you did in 2012. The new DAA's of today are a cake walk compared to what you went through.  Glad your back fighting the monster.   RC

Welcome Lock.

If you are like most people you'll probably have 3 days of noticeable but mild side effects, such as a light headache and some gastric disturbance; but these will pass after a few days and then you'll have none.  Better still you'll start to feel better pretty quickly as your viral load drops.

Drink loads of water (3 litres a day) - for some reason your body needs more water and it lessens any side effects.

Take your medication at the same time every day.

Stay away from alcohol.

Avoid taking over-the-counter medication without running it by your doctor first.

Generally, look after yourself by eating well and resting.  But you'll be able to go about your daily life with no problems.

Good luck!

Pablo
