Hi GreyEagle,

I have tried all three medications but not together. I am on day 9 of Sof/dak and it is really like a mild flu to begin with and a bit of tummy upset whilst the body adjusts. Today I had a great day, I felt totally normal for the first time since starting. I do think heat affects how we react on the combo as another Lady Libby on the same combo has some fatigue, but she is also in the heat - it just rains here a lot and not too warm. 

Riba seems to be a problem for some and less for others. I had problems within two weeks whilst others it can take 3 months and then begin to feel the build up. Anemia is the biggest problem, but if its gradual the body adjusts to it.

My biggest suggestion is not to be nervous of the medications. My first treatment I was already in a state before I took the first injection and made it a very miserable experience for myself. This time I just thought, OK, I want to get on with my life now, lets do it. Also time is actually flying by and it is not a real bother at all. 

I hope you have a good journey on this train, there are a few off us now wanting to be free of this disease and reclaim out health. Good luck :)

Hiya GrayEagle

I don't know about the first two drugs you have listed as they are new. I was on the old treatment. I can speak on the last one Ribavirin. You will be monitored for your hb (red cell count) its sides are anemia ,a bad disposition (riba rage) and maybe a rash.  Stay out of the sun it doesn't play well with the riba and if you get a rash the sun will make it worse. Drink plenty of water. Thats about all I can say. Some one who was on the newer drugs can chime it on the rest.

I've moved over here from the  New Members Area because I started treatment yesterday.

I'm G3a diagnosed in February and approved June 24th, 2016 for 24 weeks of:

Daklinza 60mg
Sovaldi 400mg &
Ribavirin 1200mg

I'm a 62yo male,  treatment Naïve with an unknown fibrosis or cirrhosis score. Although I've had a sonogram, MRI and multiple blood workups, at this time, no one can tell me whether my liver is significantly damaged or not.

My GI doctor ordered the tests but has ducked out on the responsibility of follow up visits to interpret my test results. Instead I have met once with his PA who set up getting the meds sent to me and scheduled a 1,2,4 week blood draw to monitor my progress.

I have many questions for the doctor but will have to be satisfied that treatment has begun.

One question I have that someone here might be able to answer is concerning possible snset of side effects of Tx.

If side effects are going to rear their ugly head, how soon after SOT do they typically manifest? Right away, as the meds build in my system or somewhere down the road?

Do they ramp up slowly, sneaky and creep up on you or do they jump up and slap you upside the head?
