Thanks for the kind words, Greg! We all appreciate it. I'm glad we were able to provide some help and support when you needed it most. I remember you were really going through some hardships at home. Riba definitely is not your friend when you reach the end of your rope. Hopefully we were part of the knot you tied in the end of that rope that allowed you to hang on.

The fibrosis and viral load really don't impact each other in the way some think. Many people will have varying degrees of fibrosis, while having low or high viral loads. A high viral load indicates high viral replication, which can result in increased inflammation. Prolonged inflammation will lead to increased fibrosis. It's one way HCV damages the liver over time. They discovered that the viral load itself doesn't increase or decrease one's odds of SVR. Recently with the DAA's, like Harvoni, if your viral load is 6 million and below, and you are treatment naďve, you may qualify for an 8 week course of treatment. Anything else and they require 12 or 24 weeks. Each new protocol may change those guidelines. It's exciting to watch the improvements and advances coming at such a rapid pace!

Enjoy your new Hep C free future and don't go too far. We enjoy having you here and look forward to your advice and following your recovery and improving health. You may notice improvements that you hadn't even considered. That happens to people all the time. You've got a lot to look forward to, that's for sure! Good luck...

Thanks to all of you for your help and kind words. This forum was a great help to me during those "Riba" days. And then having to care for my mother in at home hospice while on treatment. That and the Riba about drove me bonkers so that's probably why I deleted my account. Had nothing to do with anything else. I looked forward to logging in here. A real good forum me thinks! Actually, I feel about the same as I did before for those who asked. But then, I had less than stage one fibrosis, .79 according to the biopsy so unlike many on here, I was never really sick to begin with. Its strange how some can have severe damage and a low viral load and others the opposite. But yeah, it is a great relief to have a deadly, contagious virus out of my system. So in that way I feel great!  Good luck to all of those in treatment or you "veterans" who hang out on here to help others. This is a very supportive forum so keep up the good work!

Hi wolf,

Thanks for updating us.

You got this "new math" down good.

(1a X 1) @ 21.8 mil X 4/12 = 0 + 8/12, 10/12, 12/12, 37/37, 53/53 = 0

WAS a 1a, now ... just a big fat zero!

Really big congrats on your calculations. biggrin C.

Just got my one year viral load results in. Not detected just as it was at 4 weeks and every other time I was tested. Great stuff that Viekira Pak. And my viral load was 21.8 million at start of treatment. Sounds like a cure to me!
