That's great Regi! I knew once you powered through it, you'd be okay. Each of these procedures brings a bit of apprehension (to say the least) with your first experience with it. Most of these tests and procedures are more worry than they are substance. They have gotten pretty good at minimizing discomfort and problems.

Glad that you received a good report on the varicies, or lack of them. That's a good sign and indication of how your liver is handling things at the current time. Now that you're getting all of these things out of the way, the next thing will be to get your treatment train rolling. Get some rest and stay in touch.

Good to hear Regi!

Yes they do tend to make it painless and easy don't they.

"And other good news - no varices!!!" ... Congrats, very good news.

Glad it went well, biggrin

Endoscopy done! And all of you were totally right - I got the sedative, and the next thing I remember I was waking up in the recovery room.

I don't have a sore throat at the moment, but a bit of pain in my stomach because they took a small biopsy with the endoscope.

A bit tired, too, but that's probably because I didn't sleep at all last night.

And other good news - no varices!!!

I can't tell you how much I appreciated your words of support - I read them before I went to the endoscopy clinic this morning, and they really

helped to settle my spirit. I hope I can help others in the future as well.

Hi Regi,

I sure that the anticipation of it is the hardest part. Trust me, I understand that.

Please give us a heads up after you have it and you are in our thoughts.

Absolutely no worries Regi,

I've had the procedure a number of times and truly there's nothing to it.

That's why they do it on an outpatient basis, it's literally just a walk in, they go over things briefly with you so you know what they will do then they'll give you some meds (like twilight) and you won't be aware of anything until you awake shortly after. No pain, no discomfort, easy peasy. After is no problem either, you'll have to have someone drive you home, no discomfort at all, you've got this no problem.

No need to worry, an Endoscopy is a very easy procedure.

Hi Regi,

It's the easiest test of them all if you ask me. No prep involved, outside of no food or drink after midnight. Both of mine were done while asleep and I woke up feeling fine. As Lisa and Wendy mentioned, the hardest part is often the prelude to the event and in your case, the nerves. Don't overthink it, stay confident and positive. Now is the time to get all the cards on the table. When you have all the information available, you'll be able to make the best choices, if there are any to make. For us HCV patients, this is often just a routine test that is a good idea. Don't worry... We'll be here to talk anytime!

Hi Regi,

As Lisa said we typically make this worse in our heads than it actually is. I had my endoscopy same appointment as colonsocopy, So I was a hot mess in my head. It's like a bad neighbor, should not go there lol. But I do. Had a tiny bit of a sore throat afterwards and soothed it with hot tea. Was back at the office the next day.

Best wishes for good results!

Hi humbled,

Don't be worried, you'll be in good hands. The thought of something is always worse than the actual event. I nearly pooped my panties when I had to have a liver biopsy with only a local skin numbing, whilst wide awake. It was over before I knew it and the worst thing that happened was I lost sleep the days before. Anyway, let us know how it went, and I am thinking about you. x

Hi Everyone,

The moment I've been dreading all month is close at hand - my endoscopy is scheduled for Wednesday morning.

Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers - I just want it to be done with the least amount of discomfort and I really hope he doesn't find

any problems.

I wish my partner was here to go with me, but I do have a good friend coming with me to drive me home.

Fingers crossed.
