Congratulations William. What a ride you are on. Hopefully you will be that little bit more energised daily and they have some alternatives that the anti rejection drugs you are on.

Robert, I am still hoping that they clear your spots and that your meld score behaves itself. What is it without the spots factored in?

Big hugs to you both,

Syd

Hi William, sounds like things are moving along ok?  Can you elaborate on the anti-rejection med S/X.  Of all my fears that is the biggest one!   How many pills do you take a day, and how many times a day do you take them?  I'm sure all of this will be gone over with me at my transplant appointment, but it's always good to hear if from someone that has been there and done that. How did you feel the first week after the transplant?  And the second week?

I hope you don't mind all the questions, I'm getting uptight just thinking about the prosess.  RC

Congratulations on getting your liver transplant William!

That is great news to be sure. Please keep us posted as to how your are getting along and I am sure you will be fine.

My Step Daughter had a double lung transplant 11 years ago and a kidney transplant just over one year ago. The medications to keep you well are amazing. I hope this gives you some inspiration and confidence that you are starting a new life.

Just great news.

Cheers

I have just started the process of getting on the transplant list, I'm building a meld score now. I have HCC,and that will give me 28 points after I wait 6 months.  I have 3 HCC"s that we are aware of, there could be more small ones,it's hard to find them because my liver is so cirrhotic. I'm amazed your home after just two weeks, they told me I would need to stay close to the transplant hospital for 6 to 8 weeks. I live 220 miles from the hospital. Do you live really close to the transplant hospital that did your transplant?  How long did the operation take?   Are there a lot of rejection med"s you must take??  I'm hoping to buy a little time by microwave ablation get my HCC"s. I'm hoping to get 5 or more years out of my liver before I transplant!! It all teeters on how many and how often I make HCC"s. The whole transplant idea scares the heck out of me.  Let's stay in touch, I want to follow you and see how it's going. My Doctors tell me I'm compensating well, my LFT"s all look good, no ascites. I want to keep my liver as long as I can.   RC
