Canuck - you are so funny!

I think a section 8 in the UK will get you involuntarily admitted to a psych ward!  To be avoided.

Segment is a much more elegant word.

Thanks Canuck. That is interesting information. I moved it to the Knowledge Base/Useful Information section, it seemed a good fit. smile

That was awesome. Thanks Canuck. Really helped with understanding more of RC and Malcolm's posts. As well as just general education. You rock

Liver Anatomy/Segments

Never studied up on anatomy of the liver much, just vaguely knew there were left and right lobes, "roughly" where the gall bladder sat in relation to the liver, common bile duct connection, location of pancreas, etc., the most rudimentary familiarization of what is the CROWD of important organs that are ALL very crammed in together in a complex organized syncronized tangle in our abdomens, and that was about all I ever bothered to learn. But, with RC and wmlj and Mallani all recently speaking on various portions of their livers, I realized I just had to try to better understand/visualize these terms and locations they spoke of.

I laughed when I googled some stuff up to study, as, in error, I had been referring to Mallani's liver having a "section 8"!! (Apparently a section 8 only applies if you are looking for a military discharge!) The correct term (for livers) is SEGMENT I see!!

There are just tons of really good pics on the net, I actually familiarized myself quite a bit, just by skimming through some of pics in the sites!
