Just got approved for Epclusa after being denied the first time!  So excited about getting started and kicking this dragon in the butt!!!  I imagine I will have more questions once I finally get it.

Thank for all the encouragement!

Good idea to put numbers pre and post into the journal.

It is so nice to have people that understand and are going thru the same thing.

Hi there Liz,

Great news that you`ve been approved for Epclusa, how exciting, 12 weeks will certainly get the job done!

Talking about keeping a journal, I recently came across my own treatment notes in which I`d written down my aims and aspirations for when I`d hopefully achieved SVR, and I was amazed to realise and remember just how far I`ve come in my life since then, getting cured of Hep C can really be a life changer!

Wishing you all the best of luck!  And a belated welcome to the forum!  smile

I kept a journal all the way through and it still brings back lots of memories, as well as useful reminders. I recommend it highly!

Keep a section in the back for your pre, on and post treatment lab values too. Very handy reference down the road.

I think I will start a journal from how I am feeling now all the way thru SVR. I will try to post something every week at least. It will be interesting indeed! Can't wait.

It's good medicine and almost no side effects. You might have a little acid reflux and a few headaches. But just a few and far inbetween.

Thanks RC! My pharmacy said it would be a 12 week course. I don't care how long it is, just so it's gone! I have to wait until the pharmacy that will send it to me calls tells me about what to expect and to get my co -pay. Then they will send it to my house. Gilead is paying all but $15.00 total for the 3 months co pay. i am excited about that too! I should get it at the latest in another couple of weeks. Thanks to Gilead is right! Thanks to everyone on here as well. So much help and encouragement!

Liz

What great news Liz.   Are you doing 8 weeks or 12?   Your a 2-- so 8 weeks should do it.  What a bright future you have to look forward to, hep-c free!!  The best thing about SVR is all the news about how the liver will re-generate after treatment- that's when you should really start feeling good and start noticing a general over all wellness. Two months on treatment- can you beleave it? A walk in the park. Thanks go out to Gilead.    RC

Thanks Ruby Red, Canuck, Wendyo!! Knowing you are with me helps a lot!

You are right Canuck. It should be like this for everyone all the time. I was really surprised at the speed everything has gone for me. I do keep thinking how that first dose is going to help my body feel!

Ruby - I know you will be joining soon. They better fast track the approval. Keep the faith! Keep that sword with you at all times! biggrin

Hey Phoenix,

Great news! Welcome to the epclusa club. Shouldn't be long now!

So glad things progressed quickly for you. That's the way it SHOULD go.

You will feel a little better just knowing it is coming now.

I did, as soon as I knew I had really and truly been accepted into my trial, then again when the first pill passed my lips, and then again at every milepost along the way. It will get better.

While waiting in turmoil, I recall salivating over the lovely trial meal tkflex36 was tucking into and I said "I'll have what he's having please!".

I am glad and relieved to see (at least in the U.S.) that epclusa is indeed being rolled out, even if it is happening in an uneven fashion, at least it is rolling. Successful scripts in Ohio (CandaceV), Alabama (Ivery) - still waiting to hear back from MommaT (N.J.) to see if that script will go through.

I must say, I am more than a little disappointed in Canada's response to get epclusa rolling here. And, as well in the delay everywhere in rolling out VOX, for those wanting/needing alternate SOF/VEL/VOX triplet therapy (like what RC needs/wants) - I am so sick of people having to do riba. I hope our Ruby soon joins the velpa zero club too.

Very pleased you will soon be velparized! biggrin C.

Greetings Rising One! ;)

Just in case you did not know it, this is a great place to let loose and cry until you run out of tears. Of course someone will then just come by and reassure you we get it, and remind you to drink more water. wink

Waiting, Approved, On Treatment, Waiting, Cured.

That is how the Family here rolls and you are definitely one of us.

Congrats!

JimmyK

Congratulations on your great news!! I'm thrilled to hear you didn't have any problems with approval. You should be excited. Epclusa is very effective and minor, if any, side effects. You are going to do well, the data and our own Epclusa trial warriors have shown us how good it is.

Take advantage of the time before treatment and ready your body and mind for it. Eat well, stay active and get ready to battle. A positive and informed approach is always the best direction. Prepare for success...

Stay in touch, I hope you hear something soon.

I got a call from my insurance company this afternoon telling me I have been approved for Epclusa! I almost started to cry, but was at work so I restrained myself. There are so many emotions going thru my head right now.

For the first time in about 36 years my body and mind will start to feel better. It's been so long that I am not quite sure how it's going to feel to not to have this virus eating away at me. Looking forward to my new normal! I can't wait. smile

Not sure when I will get it though. Hopefully in the next week or so.
