I agree sungoddess, it is VERY wonderful. That's a beauty und, you so well deserve.

Gee, hit me - 21? , twice!? (waaay bettter than blackjack) and THAT's NO bluff! Definite winner, all ya gotta do now, is cash-out!

Interesting about your hike in flashes, I went through a "variable" period for quite some time (kinda like that), big time, for years before and some during treatment too (regardless of being on HRT), flashes not so much, but the "night sweats" thing - (ha, I can relate to Candace's husband and his nighttime sweat break-dancing,) worse than hot yoga! Jury is still out on this, but ... I think I have stopped that drenching! Hard to say, if my night sweats were "just because", or, if that too may have been somewhat related to the HCV!

Stay cool, and rested and well watered - you're allllmost there! I can't wait either! biggrin C.

Another one bites the dust!

Harvoni is fast becoming a redundant success.

That's what we like to see! Nothing better than witnessing that on paper! Your enzymes are stellar and a sign of good things to come. Sure beats the old days doesn't it? Keep up what you're doing, it's working! HYDRATE!!

My 4 week labs came back -undetectable- !!! What a wonderful feeling. ALT and AST both at 21. I can feel the difference, the lack of fatigue. I start week 8 tomorrow and am amazed at how well these meds are tolerated. I have had a few headaches, tinny taste in my mouth, insomnia, and am more forgetful than my usual forgetful self. Harvoni also makes my hot flashes hotter, yikes! 5 weeks to the finish line and I can't wait.

Hi Sungoddess,

"mind scrub" what a good term. My treatment earlier this year included 12 weeks of RIBA and although it must have been nothing compared to your trip in 2012, I think it has till given me the right to sit vaguely on the front porch, suck my lips right into a gummy mouth, scratch a bit of white ear hair and mutter - these youngens and their Harvoni and Eclupsa, have no darn idea what we pioneers found out there in the wilderness of our own minds.

Sorry, just getting silly here, so glad you have hit the Harvoni jackpot. It'll be a walk on the park.

Syd biggrin

Sungoddess,

Hey, another day done! Minus a nap too! Bonus!!

I have read a lot of the entries where Harvonians have been speaking of detecting changes in their energy levels at some point(s) in their treatment, but, you have probably been reading lots of info about harvoni, and as well the harvoni threads and info here too.

My "downtime", (the irresistible, overpowering, overwhelming, be-yond control, body and brain insisting/DEMANDING it HAS to have a nap/rest/sleep/more sleep!) has slowly been improving since EOT. It is nice to detect improvements, any improvements, as they manifest themselves. But do nap/rest, when and as you need to.

You got the H20 thing down pat and organized. I was surprized (in retrospect) that I needed even more water than I had been managing to imbibe! I thought I was drinking a lot! - enough (technically) - but in my particular case, I really should have been "flooding" myself even a bit more, in hindsight, I would have been better off for it.

I am sorry for the trepidation you experienced in getting that first pill down the hatch, but it is understandable - so glad it was soon followed by your "shock" at the ease of it since then!!

Love that photo - are you an avid photographer? smile C.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. Today has been another really good day. I notice that I have a lot of energy, I no longer need the midday nap I was taking after work. I can't help but wonder if this is what everyday was supposed to feel like. I will continue to hydrate with my gallon jug of water I refill every night. Cheers! Non alcoholic of course.

Hi Bev,

Yeah the old Tx were definitely a doozy. I too was successful on harvoni with minimal side effects. To echo the guys....hydrate! Listen to your body, if you are tired, rest, if you can exercise do so, eat healthy and before you know it, you will be at the finish line. Another cheerleader on your team!

Hello Bev, welcome back!!

I remember you from last time around and I`m very pleased to see you`re here again, now on Harvoni!   Well done for squaring up for the next - and final! - battle with the Hep C Dragon!  It`s perfectly natural that you were feeling anxious about getting started, especially after going through the Victrelis triple, that was a cruel and relentless ordeal for many in its day, and thank goodness Hep C treatments have moved on a long way since then.  As others have said, you`ll be amazed at how much easier it is this time, just keep drinking the water and it will be over and done with before you know it!   smile

Welcome back Bev. Tx should be a cake walk for you this time in comparison and more successful too. I had my 'mind scrubbed' too when I treated with 24 weeks of riba but my 2nd Tx with Harvoni was very smooth for me. You'll see. I'm an assistant water boy and I 2nd Tig's reminder; a gallon a day. smile

Hi Canuck, that is the Chandler, Alberta town hall. Im sure a fine time was had there years ago. I loved the building. My daughter and I were on our way to Drumheller and passed this forgotten little town.

Good for you girl! Like your attitude (and humour) despite all ... "minds scrub"!!  hee hee (shouldn't be funny!).  You deserve a fine ride this time 'round.

You are showing yourself to be a vet, truly, in every good sense of the word.  I am positive for you too! This is a different ride for you, with the correct destination.

Glad you are posting. What's the story of your wonderful avatar pic? smile C.

Hello Bev,

Welcome back! Glad you are getting this opportunity to treat. So much different than the Vic triple you spoke of. I did the same thing and was a total mess by EOT (28 weeks of hell). I was fortunate though, I achieved SVR and haven't had a bit of trouble since. All that weight around the middle was gone by EOT, but it's found it's way home now... My energy could be better, and I could use a boost of motivation. Not complaining though! I'm thrilled you got Harvoni. Another Gilead goldmine! You should do very well.

Sounds like you've got things under control. I'm the water boy around here now, and even though you mentioned it, it's my job to remind you again, you MUST drink at least a gallon of water per day. That helps a lot with those headaches. Fatigue may be a booger sometimes, but I understand it isn't too difficult to manage. I hope that's the case with you. Glad you're back with good news! smile

I moved this thread to the On Treatment section. You're no longer New, you're On Treatment

Hello all, its been a while since I have posted here. Did Tx in 2012 with Victrelis, interferon and riba. Yikes! We called that the "Mind Scrub". To say I was nervous of starting a new treatment is an understatement and wasn't sure I was even going through with it until I popped the first pill in my mouth. I have had a couple dull headaches in day 2-3, a stiff neck, and a couple of foggy mornings, but otherwise nothing. I get up at 4am for work so take my pill at 5pm and into bed by 8. I am drinking a gallon of water a day and I'm sure that helps keep the side effects away. I received so much good information from this message board last time around and have been creeping in here for a few weeks now. I consider this chance to finally be rid of the virus a gift. My outlook is positive and I am shocked at how easy this has been so far. Fingers crossed...
