Going to be reading that Tig, thank you.

Hi Pitka, I too "am not sick enough" according to my insurance co, so I completely understand where you are coming from. It's totally maddening. I didn't file a grievance or appeal in due time from the date of my first denial but may battle that next time round when I return in June.

Course on the upside the fibrosis score is low and thats a good thing, right?

Hi Patricia,

You will work with the doctor during the appeal process. You find out what your  insurance carrier's appeal process is and file the request. It's usually straightforward. Your doctor plays into the justification/necessity end of it. S/he has to fight for you regardless of "Stage". Find a doctor that will if you aren't happy with your quality of care.

Here's an article that may help you understand the process:

Appeal Process

Hi..have a question for those of you who were denied tx from insurance co....My insurance denied my tx, due to "Not Being Sic Enough". I am 2b, Grade 1 biopsy, fatty liver. Clinical papers were sent to Ins. Co, and now I am told that I am the one responsible  to proceed with a grievance and external appeal. Every where I read ,was that the Doctor submits that part.         Help Me on this one.................................................................
