Happy Mothers Day to Lone Wolfe's Mom.

Oh I know she is not here anymore, neither is my Mom. But at the same time, I like to think mine can see me and is smiling.

Lone Wolfe in the middle of your treatment your stepped up to that which is profound in importance. God bless you. wink

I'm sorry to hear of your loss tig56. And so recently. Your words speak volumes. You have my utmost respect as you are truly a man of great compassion and understanding. I'm sure your mom is smiling as well, knowing she produced such a caring and thoughtful son. You are doing a great service on this forum. Take care and I'll keep in touch. Greg

Ah, I cropped it so her pic posted straight. Taken about 10 days before her passing.

Hi Greg,

I remember when you mentioned your Mom was in home hospice. We did that for my sister and I know they were happier at home with family. Please accept my deepest condolences over her passing and your loss. I lost my Mom in February and it's a difficult day. May all the Mom's here and in spirit enjoy their day of thanks and never ending love...

Ribavirin? That xxxx is evil in a pill. It took about a day for it to mess with my head, so don't minimize your length of time on it compared to anyone. Just making it through the first week is a milestone for anyone taking it. I'm glad we're seeing limited use of it now, but it still has an important place in some protocols. It works, but damn, it was tough to get through it for most of us. I'm thrilled with your success and hope everything continues to go your way. Enjoy your Maltese baby, Mom is smiling....

Thanks guys, I appreciate the support I received here. I had quite a few posts but deleted my account during a "Riba moment". I can only imagine what some of you went thru on the earlier treatment regimens. Even 12 weeks of Ribavirin did a number on my head but I think it was caring for my mother in "at home" hospice in the middle of treatment that really threw me for a loop. To do that during treatment, or anytime for that matter is very mentally taxing. I just returned from putting flowers on her grave. Mother's day, you see.
I still have her little Maltese dog. He's 16 1/2 now. She would have been very happy to see him get this old and still be healthy and happy. He's my baby!
Yes, I know that SVR at one year is pretty much a cure. The VA will probably test me every year until I die. Great service from them around these parts but I know its not like that everywhere. Right Tig56? I hope things improve in your area. Just wanted to say hi and thank you all again. Happy mother's day to any and all mother's out there! Good luck and god bless all of you.

Hi lonewolf,

Great news to hear!.

From 21.8 million to 0, in 4 weeks, sustained 2 years? - ya, I'll say! "sounds like cured" for sure!

And big  bonus (all the rest), no real liver damage - it can't get much better than that!

A big happy congrats on your SVR 24!  biggrin

SVR-12 is now considered Cured. It took some time to get there and a lot of pain in the old days. Thak God for all of the Pioneers before us.

Congrats!

Well its been two years post treatment and the VA ran another test. Still undetected and The ALT And AST are both very low. 20 and 31. I guess I got lucky. I know I had the Hep C 1A about 30 years and no real liver damage and Undetected since the first test. Sure sounds cured to me!. Good stuff Viekira Pak. Good luck to all those still suffering or undergoing treatment!
