Hi Edith,

I wouldn't use the Magnesium until you get specific permission to use it. There are warnings about the use of oral Magnesium with Harvoni, it can alter the absorption rate. How that applies to dermal application is above my paygrade, but supplements in general aren't recommended during treatment. Generally, there isn't a problem taking the occasional Tylenol or Ibuprofen for pain, adding a narcotic to it is a question for professionals. As Wendy suggested, call your doctor first. That way you'll have the best of guidelines to follow.

call the specialty pharmacy or your doc and ask about the spray and your pain meds. I know for me, both sources were quite helpful.

Before starting my Harvoni treatment I8 days ago, I use to spray magnesium oil spray under my feet on the solar plexus, it was used for my joint pain from arthritis and also relaxed me to be able to sleep within a very few mins. Does anyone know whether or not using this spray will have contraindications or lesson the effects of the Harvoni drug. Also once, during tratment i had to take a pain pill to help with joint pain. Since then I have just "pushed through it, since I'm just not sure and don't want to take any chancesnof interfering with my success. Any suggestions, comments, or opinions are welcomed. Thank you!

Hello and welcome to the forum! Wendy is right, HCV treatment won't cure HPV. Wishful thinking anyway. In most cases it resolves on it's own, but there are often additional considerations that have to be watched for. I'm sure you're aware of them, but I'll include some current information on it from the CDC. Cancer screenings are most important. HPV is the most common STD in the USA, nearly a third of the country has been exposed at some point. Most don't even know it. Men rarely experience any symptoms whatsoever. The vaccination programs for our youth are reducing the potential problems associated with it. 

Good luck with treatment. Harvoni is one of the best new drugs available and will do what it claims to as long as you do your part. Take it everyday at the same time, stay rested, eat a balanced diet, not a lot of processed stuff and a gallon of water minimum throughout the day. You should also stay active, try and keep moving forward. You may notice some changes right away or not, we're all different. You are most definitely on your way to a healthier life!

It's time to relax and enjoy your journey on the Harvoni Train!

As far as the HPV, no Harvoni will not get rid of that too unfortunately. After numerous colposopys over the past 5 years my last pap finally showed normal. My GYN and everything I read says most people clear it on their own. Not sure if my body finally was able to clear it once I was cured of HCV or it would have happened anyway. I will never know. I choose to use my saying, is it odd or is it God for this! My hope for you is the Harvoni kills you dragon and like me, a year later the HPV will be gone! Keep up the water intake, healthy eating etc. Take care of U!

Blood transfusion at 14 yrs old. Learned i had hep C in 2001. This is my six day on Harvoni. Only 1st few days were tough but water reallly diminishes side effects. Also have HPV virus and wonder if this powerful harvoni can also kill this virus. Seems logical and i'm hopeful. Any thoughts- or suggestions.
