Hi again meow,

My own internet at home is back on again!! They must have got the forest fire damage repaired. So I can easily pick up on my previous post to you now. smile

Now that I can have a better/clearer read without all that "flashing"! ... without reviewing all the text of your posts to search for your exact SOT and length of treatment, I will assume you are on Zep for twelve weeks treatment and your screwed-up dosings were at aprox between week 4 and 5? If so, like your doc and JK said, do NOT go off the deep-end about a "failure" because of that - keep in mind you have many, many days of treatment to come, to finish your course.

JUST don't screw up any more!

If you are feeling "unwell" things, you need to try flooding yourself MORE with water! NOT wondering and worrying about your dosing screw ups. Drink more water! MUCH better to be fretting about drinking enough water and getting your pill into you, on time, everyday. Thus a good idea you suggested about using an alarm.

There are only two things that are imperative for you to do, your part of the deal - to take the pills without fail, and flooding yourself with fluids.

I know you did not count on the delivery of your meds to get screwed up on you, BUT, Murphy's law ALWAYS applies, at all times, when you are on a very important treatment - you have to be very pro-active and prevent another drug delivery delay, and, you must NEVER sleep through a pill.

I noted you have 2 "On Treatment" threads going. For continuity, it is sometimes easier to review things when you keep posts to one "On Treatment " thread. While searching for further info from your posts, i suddenly realized you HAD previously started Harvoni in March, and obviously had to stop, but this wasn't mentioned again in any of your Zep posts. That too is important info, (being recently treatment experienced, on Harvoni, for what must have been an extremely short period - weeks?- in March, and then starting this brand new Zep regime in June?)

(details like that - prior treatments, SOT dates, EOT dates, and the prescribed/planned length of treatment(s) are good things to show in your sig. line BTW)

So, with your start and then the sudden stop of the Harvoni, and then with this new/recent Zep therapy now well underway - all the more reason it is vital you ENSURE you get the Zep into you on time, every day, without fail.

I think I skimmed, somewhere else, in another post, that you were drinking lots of water? So, that is good - but how much is that?, what volume are you drinking? Try more (if you a feeling things like headaches, blah, bagged)!

None of this is easy, is it!? And yet, you and me have it waaaay easier compared to the folk who had to endure the old treatments. We are so lucky to have good drugs like these available to us nowadays. Let us know how you are making out and how you are feeling now. smile C.

Hi Meow,

Hope this works, I am having to sit outside of an A&W parking lot late at night trying to teach myself how to pick up an open wi-fi - (we have had many, many forest fires here in our area and our internet service is burnt up until further notice, sure miss being able to read and post here!! - we'll see if this open wifi thing does indeed end up working ,,, my screen is very annoyingly "flashing" at me constantly, so I want to try to make this brief.

Good idea (setting an alarm to remind you to take your pill), do that and EVERYTHING you can humanly do to ensure you DO NOT miss ANY more pills, and do NOT be "late" for any further pills. Pre-arrange WELL ahead of time for your next bottle. Be pro-active and know that you have contacted everyone well ahead of time for your next bottle so it does not arrive late. Ensure it.

VERY important to be consistant, every day, SAME time every day, so your blood levels of the drug do not drop. Gotta go, this "flashing is blinding me!

Sorry, I see so many posts here i would love to respond to tonight, but got find a better way than this A&w wifi!  smile C.

Greetings,

If it were me I would insist on a HCV RNA at week 7.

Consistency is a big part of treatment. I would count the half pill days as a miss. That is three consecutive and I agree it is not quite long enough to throw the towel in at this point.

I also would not worry about it a bit. The only time I have seen a cause for worry is if there is a 10 fold increase in a VL between a two week back to back blood draw.

Do you have any past results? HCV RNA only.

JimmyK

Happy July 10 everyone! I know it's not an official holiday, but it's Monday so it's a start to a new week

I just began week five on Zepatier

BUT  here is my dilemma:

Last Monday, 3 July I only had one pill left of week four, I go to the doctor where I assumed my new box was waiting I get there and I'm told it is not there.

So what I do to get myself through till Wednesday is I split the final pill in half. So I have something in my system versus nothing in my system. That was my logical thinking.

I'm told to come back Wednesday because Tuesday was the Fourth of July. Tuesday I'm told there is no box for me- pharmacy did not send it .  Immediately called the pharmacy and they were so awesome and they did an emergency overnight delivery. Bio plus pharmacy is phenomenal.

So here was my pill schedule for last week -the week of Fourth of July :

Monday half a pill, Tuesday missed, Wednesday half a pill ,  Thursday I took a whole pill because I got my new box, Friday I took a whole pill, Saturday I miss the pill because I fell asleep, Sunday I took my whole pill.

Five weeks of taking this medicine I have never once missed a pill until this past week! So now I am setting an alarm on my phone (to wake me up if I happen to be asleep) for 10 PM so I take my pill.

I take my pill right before bed every night along with a nausea medicine and some baby aspirin because it gives me headaches.

I'm concerned that the 2 half a pill days & the 2 missed days,  all in the span of one week is going to undo five straight weeks of consistent pill taking.

Because i'm noticing some of those side effects from the first two weeks popping back up. Such as feeling nauseous, headache, tired. So now I'm getting a little paranoid that last weeks erratic pill schedule somehow undid all of the good  of the past four weeks.

For four weeks straight I took that pill on time every single night without fail. But at the end of the four weeks is when there was this miscommunication about the delivery of the medicine before the holiday.

They tell me not to worry about it, they only worry when it's been one to two weeks of consistent missing of the pill. Not two days. And not even two days in a row. So that pacified me but still waking up and feeling those old familiar side effects from the start of my journey got me a little nervous.

Well, I have to do some blood work for my appointment on the 17th of July.

Want to compare viral loads from day one to weeks 6/7.

I will take the pill a couple of extra weeks if it means clearing my body of hep C genotype one A

 I'm 41, I caught this roughly around the time I was 23 or 24.

I'm probably being a Nervous Nellie because I tend to be very OCD and anxiety ridden about health issues. Yes I am "one of those people" I abscess about every little ache and pain and Google everything and I'm convinced I have the rarest of the rare tropical diseases that haven't seen the light of day  anywhere near the United States in like 500 years bUt  I somehow caught this rare disease that is killing me.

An unfortunate side effect of extreme anxiety/panic disorder

AnyWho, I'm sorry to bore y'all with this long-winded post. But I guess what I'm looking for is opinions or experience with missing pills after being on treatment for a month or whatever

Much love and blessings to all of you on the same journey as I. I hope that today and tonight is a good night for you all
