All of this talk about extra weight and gym classes has me feeling very unworthy, lol! I used to be so active, not so much these days. I lost 55 pounds during treatment and needed to. It was a lousy, but effective weight loss program, without exercise! Never again, thank God...

I encourage people to stay as active as safely possible. Diet is very important, too. It’s so easy to get out of the swing of these important habits. With that, I think I’m going to go out and bake some cookies! Here’s a picture of my last effort, they were delicious! Don’t follow my lead, ha!

The menopause weight is a **** to deal with. I am struggling too. Just like Jags said. I am tracking food and you all know how much I work out so new trainer told me to switch out one of my classes at gym and pick up an extra cycle class which I will gladly do. Not the end of the world by any means all things being equal!

Hey lovely Canuck ....so nice to hear from you, I have missed your banter ! Well...Kos is a Greek island ...and I cant wait....and Slimming World is not a gym its a diet...a healthy balanced diet and you can eat so much on it you never get hungry biggrin I guess the weight got around my belly due to Menopause ...and cake...and a bit of chocolate here and there lol...but it needs to go. Ive got lots more energy these days its wonderful but I think is as Im now 6 and half months post treatment...had a lot of fatigue first couple of months which did make me a little concerned it was coming back but that is gone now...along with the nagging doubt! They said my bloods were really good and they were really pleased with all tests...this was a big milestone for me in that I seem to have now completely stopped worrying it could come back. As for the BP ...I think it was stress. Ive had an avalanche of crap coming from all directions, including work (the worst crap of all) lol...leaking boiler, had to buy a new car, and the health stuff. But the good stuff has kept me optimistic...as usual Im sunny side up biggrin glass half full! Always somebody worse off and in my job Im reminded of that every day. Anyway...Im thankful for your friendships and your ability to always make me welcome when Im passing by. Now things are settled I intend to visit more....Happy New Year Canuck ....big cheesy grins xxxxx good night xxxx

Hey Jags,

So glad to see your post, like stumbling across an oasis in the dessert, nice to get all "caught up" on your state of things. Been missin your "ism's". biggrin

Where or what is Kos, that you are going to in June?? I like the sound of it (I think), too much work sometimes is not a good thing, work stress alone can contribute (in various ways) to making us less healthy I think.

Hm, sorry about a lot of those things that you have had happen! Aren't these things supposed to come in threes, not in groups of 6's or 7's! Norvo virus, abscess, having to loose a tooth! Good grief. The steroid to hand was a good thing to try. On BP meds is a good thing to try, and yes perhaps like Wendy you will be able to not have to do BP meds forever - a wait and see sorta thing. How long and how consistently high had your BP's been? What is your BP med, how long have you been on it, and is it working?

Don't really know what "slimming world" consists of, a place to exercise, and/or diet involved ? ... but given your BP and all else about wanting to make sure you can keep yourslef as healthy as can be ... sounds like a good thing to try. Do you think you have a lot of weight to loose? Or is it more a case of just being fitter, toned. Either way, movement is our friend - exercise does a body good (in so many ways), long term may help BP too.

I have seen nothing whatsoever about neg post-treatment effects of epclusa for people, I do have a pet theory though, that after dumping the HCV, we do have "health" equilibriums to re-balance. A "coming" into our own again. So, very good you are trying to take the very best care of your temple as you can.

Lots of people as they age can develop BP issues, and they have never had HCV nor been on HCV treatment. You are on the right health track, cured of a health sucking liver infection, already learned to drink lots of water, exercising, eating good, quitting smoking, living stress-free as possible, cripes your getting near perfect!

Now that was weird (this not being able to wake/move)!! Hope that was a one-off! If it could possibly be "drug" related, then what drugs have you been on (aside from BP meds or maybe antibiotics for your tooth)? Prolly just an unfortunate weird one-off. Stress too can be a very surprisingly powerful thing that can have the strangest manifestations though, don't rule that out either. Hope you don't go sleep walking next!

Dog slobber saved you! Baby slobber I hear is very healthy to apply to oneself too.

So glad to hear from ya Jags, missed ya round here, keep doing what your doing! biggrin C.

Hey Jags,

Have you determined what caused the sleep paralysis? Some of the new sleep meds are said to cause that. Have you started anything like that?

The post treatment information on these new drugs is just recently been coming in. If there isn’t something palpably wrong with it, it can take years to collect enough data to come to a conclusion. With these new DAA’s, they came so fast patients had multiple options available and that waters down the data (IMO).

The good news I can share is, I’m not aware of any long term problems related to Epclusa. Hep C causes many problems, or extra hepatic manifestations. Once cured, it takes time to heal, partially or completely, but we’re going in the right direction. That matters! I look at it like a marathon, not a sprint. We all  signed up for this marathon and I’m happy to say all of the runners on this forum are finishing, successfully!

Thanks Tig yeh granddaughter is my angel and i Absolutely love the bond we have...we are all going on holiday together in June to Kos so I cant wait ....I will aim to keep in touch more frequently with this site but been like a whirlwind of work and doctors appointments, bloods and blood pressure reviews....Wendyo....I do hope to get off them..your post is good news...is it common to have this after treatment? Are there other Epclusians who have had some health issues or is it too early to get data on this? .Ive quit smoking again (started again after last round of redundaNcc) so that should help....Ive joined slimming world today...mostly cause i cant shift the belly fat (another gift from menopause) so got The membership free through NHS who are subsidised by county council....healthy changes Im happy to try....oh.....and yesterday I had awakening sleep paralysis....now that was scary as hell....dog was licking my nose to wake me but I could not open eyes or mouth or move so for what seemed like forever and was probably only seconds I was terrified....apparently quite common....so...Im going through some crazy stuff lol ....but happy ....and positive....I plod along ....good to back here, have a great weekend ...love and light xxx

So great to hear from Jags. For me, the best part of your post was reading that you don't care about irrelevant stuff any longer. Maybe you will be able to get off the BP meds?! I did. So there is always hope.

Big hug,

Hi Jags,

Wow, it’s really good to hear from you! It sounds like you’re doing well, except for a bad tooth and Noro Virus, yuck. We’ve been talking about teeth lately. Seems we all have a dental disaster to share. Lucky us! I hope you get some relief soon. Tooth pain can be miserable.

Congratulations on your continued SVR! That kind of news is always exciting! Bye-Bye, Dragon...

Your grand daughter is growing like a weed. I know you love that little girl. I can tell :) My grandson just turned one and keeps his parents running. My grand daughter is 3 1/2 and is a little Diva sometimes, ha! So much fun to get together. We love them to pieces!

I hope you can check in more often. We did have some good chats. In the meantime, take care of yourself and your family. Thanks for the update!

How dreadful, Jags, so sorry you`ve had to endure such shocking treatment from your work colleagues, such outrageous behaviour!  Sounds like you`ve got a good case to take it up with an employment tribunal, although it would quite likely be a slow and stressful process.  Hard to accept that such dreadful prejudice towards people with a positive Hep C diagnosis still exists, but seems like we`ve still got a long way to go.

Anyway, I like the sound of your plans, a new challenge and working for yourself sounds perfect!  You`ve got a great attitude, the dragon is history, and I wish you all the best of luck!

Let us know how things go, keep in touch!  smile

Hey all thanks again ...as always you all come through for me when Im About....the Work thing has been ongoing since I got diagnosis, some seniors and Human Resources have let me down, messed up my pay 3 times, tried to make me redundant but offered me a lower paid position ( 4K less a year) but more work now...and scrutinize my health status at ever opportunity, even Innapropriately talking anout my health to my daughter who is also in the same profession ( youth work) at a conference....they have made me take some appointments as annual leave but I clawed them back ...a couple of staff members bullied me and made out I was attention seeking when I got sick....( they have gone now ) even sent me mean text messages....you WOULD NEVER  believe the stuff ive dealt with since diagnosis...and my manager never stuck up for me...so ....I stuck up for myself and sounded them all out...what you see is what you get with me and I cant stand two faced nasty fake people...that is why I have to walk away

so now after some time off and time to think

I have decided Im going to embark on a new challenge and get trained to style HD Brows...yes...im going to work for myself and go mobile with it...it will be a completely different line of work but it Wont be the first time Ive started something new. Im ready for change...and let them all get on with it....walk away from another difficult chapter in my life ...leaving it....and the dragon ....behind. For now I will stay where I am and get trained ...them hand my notice in ( I cant wait) and tell them where to shove their organisation....

every thing happens for a reason....que sera sera lol....

My granddaughter is Always on hand for cuddles...she is the cutest little bundle of pheromones ...I adore her....

gotta go battery low....love to you all...wendy, Jill, Canuck, Robert and observer and Tig xxxxx back real soon to keep in touch xxx

Hi there Jaggles, congratulations on your SVR!!!  Great news!

I really feel for you with the workplace stress though, no-one should have to suffer all that rubbish from work.  Hope you manage to get it sorted out somehow.  In the meantime, rest and relax, you`ve earned it!  And you have a lovely granddaughter, that`s wonderful!

Wishing you all the best!  smile

Hi Jags. Congrats on that BIG SVR!!  Your sooo lucky you were able to get treated with Epclusa. Not that the Abbvie drug Is inferior but Im sooo partial to the Gilead drugs.I want to see everyone hit SVR no mater what R/X they use!!  If I remember correctly your a GT-3 and no prior treatment-so Epclusa was a perfect fit for you. Sounds like you work from home on your P.C.? If thats the case then it must be nice to just un-plug when things get out of hand! Go easy on the ones that give you the most grief , you never know what could have just happened in there life That triggered there attack (ie: spouse or child just diagnosed with some terrible disease) I have always looked at things that way, it helps me accept the moment and in some way explain there attack, and realize it wasn't personal. (Did that make any sense).  Anyway I just wanted to jump in and say Congrtulations on SVR.   RC

There she is! Missed you Jags. Here is some hope for you.....I was able to get off my bp meds as the cause of my work stress was removed. I pray for folks that I have issue with, and not that they get hit by a car but they they have the nice things I seek such as peace of mind, happiness and health. And you never know what will happen. For me, she was removed from her position. God has a sense of humor. Hug that grandbaby and know we miss you here.

Hi Jayne!

Dang, girl, where you been hiding? We missed you around here. I'm so happy to hear you've achieved SVR, CONGRATULATIONS!!! That's fabulous! I'll have you know, we haven't had any relapses since your time with us, everyone has gone on to SVR with you. Even those that did some time ago, will have every opportunity to beat it with another round of the good stuff. We're starting to get this figured out, finally.

Sorry you're experiencing such nonsense at work. I don't know why people have to lay their garbage in our laps so regularly. All we ever wanted was to make a living wage and enjoy life. The people that are the worst, have never experienced much more than a hang nail and think the world should revolve around their opinions. I hope you're feeling better now that you've "signed off". Don't "sign on" until things are right for YOU. Sometimes that's tough, but you've got a lot to live for and that new grand baby sounds precious. Aren't they just the greatest? I love my two dearly. Should've had them first, lol!

Now listen up, I want you checking back in here more regularly! We need to keep tabs on you and the baby. Talking with good friends about anything you want, venting when it's needed, all helps you to relax and that's going to help the tension and the blood pressure. Got it? Good! We all enjoy your company and friendship, remember that.

Oh, the new drug you're talking about is likely Maviret. They began spelling it Mavyret in the EU when it first came out. Here's some info on it. HERE  It's good stuff!

Hi all...sorry Ive been away long time but to be honest the past 3 months since end of treatment have been tough. I got good news today though and Im eot + 12 weeks still undetected..i Can feel my shoulders coming down as I type those words.

lots of work related stress and Im signed off right now because of the way they have treated me ..anyway Thats another story...i have had some issues with high blood pressure but it is now  going down as the stress is leaving me. I have had some joint problems in hands and feet but generally feeling well and happ. My granddaughter and I have a special bond ...she has been my angel ....

today the Hep nurse told me (FYI) they have recently been told they are no longer allowed to prescribe Epclusa as a new drug ...Movilat? Something like that...or begining with M ....has taken its place. same results and sides as Epclusa though but costs much less) sounds like the world has a chance of beating it as treatments advance and costs come down.

i have also been quite reluctant to come on here in case I see any posts from people who have relapsed..dont think That would have helped ....but I really am all good now.

Corfu was well needed although it came with a few hitches including being infested with wasps ...lol....

i Hope everyone is ok and I wish everybody all the very best...sending lots of my love and good vibes xxx

Up yours Dragon!!!!

Hey Canuck...yes it really does feel good...been a crazy year...well...35 years I guess but feeling better each week and a lot more chilled out. The damn virus made me extremely emotional and irrational...losing the fear and being able to stop fighting everyone...from fighting to get a diagnosis to fighting the NHS to get my choice of treatment...then fighting the virus and finally fighting to keep my job, home etc......I am taking big sigh of relief and enjoying what matters. Wish I could afford to pay for you to meet in Corfu....that would be like icing on the cake...hey...if I win lottery ...who knowsbiggrin

love to all you wonderful peeps.....back to writing about my experience with b and c ....up yours dragon Xxxx

Ah my lovely Jags!

Feels better, doesn't it?, in many ways! From bathing in the sweet smile of that grandbabe's face, to languishing on a private beach, all on your own, no more packin that shat-disturbin' hitchhiking virus around anymore.

You got things to do, no looking back now (except to reminisce).

Left brain, right brain, whatever ... use both! - you already know you are permanently labelled now anyway, UND/UND/UND/UND, so go ahead, exercise both hemispheres it, but you SHOULD better spend it on writing! I like that idea! You would think by your 5th UND in Oct that this will all be coming passe soon? You're already in club "zero", you've been on a viral holiday since they made you turn in your "3" card at week 2!

Man, I'm so jealous, private beach, blue seas, all inclusive you say? - did you mean ... like all of us?

Oh, and don't worry, me and Ruth hardly beat Tig up at all, it was just a little beating - sheesh, he's so sensitive!, man-o-pause I think. He thinks he stepped in something, he didn't realize we were just dancin', two-step like"! hee hee

Here's you ... biggrin

Jags!!

Hey Sister! It's so good to hear from you. I knew you must be busy out there with the new grandbaby and living the new Hep free life. How wonderful it must be to feel all those improvements coming your way. I'm glad the hot flashes are gone, I wish mine were. I was just talking with the Ladies about the "Pause" and I almost stepped in it. I was promptly sent to my room where I learned to shut my mouth, lol! I suffer from Man-O-Pause and if you lost your hot flashes, they swam the Atlantic to my house, thanks for that biggrin

Your vacation sound marvelous! I'm envisioning this svelte, tanned young lady on the beach enjoying life. That's what this journey was all about, getting back to normal and then some! Have fun and don't you worry about the upcoming tests, you're a winner and the Dragon is dead. Long life and happy liver for you....

Best of luck, always!

YES! I was so excited to see Up Yours Dragon just now. (its the little things)

I wish I could say my hot flashes were better. But there are way worse things I could be dealing with.

Nice to hear from you Jags and very happy to read of your adventures. Enjoy!

Hi everyone...sorry I've been off radar but been enjoying my life again and busy as a bee on speed....since EOT have had periods of joint pain and fatigue but slowly things seem to be improving. The menopausal (hepopause) has stopped ,....yayyy...I no longer get those horrendous flashes...the consultant said that Hep does increase menopausal symptoms but I don't really get any now so thinking all the time it was Hep and NOT horrendous menopause.

Im seeing rheumatologist soon to keep monitoring joint pain but suppliments  glucosamine and chronodontin are definitly helping...but trigger finger in the morning really hurts...apart from that it's managable.

walking my dogs twice a day and today bathed my little granddaughter today who is smiling already...life is good again biggrin

im off to Greece ( Corfu ) 5 weeks today to a nice remote 4 star + hotel all inclusive...private beach and air conditioning rooms so I can't wait....I think of you all often and happy to tell you I am writing a book....when I get time...but have started...all about my journey 'Fighting Dragons'.....I love to write.

eating very healthy as I did chunk up quite a bit from lack of mobility during illness ( got to be bikini ready for my holidaybiggrin) but everyday I feel blessed and thankful.

next draw October and consultant says I need to prepare for that...quite a scary prospect but as Canuck said...I think with my right...or is it left? Brain lol....and logical thoughts prevail....

i have resigned myself to the fact that it has gone...if it comes back I will be unlucky but face it if that happens ...considering relapse stats are so low I'm optimistic...my glass is always half full.

love and best wishes to you all....my Hep family xxxxx

Really happy for you JAG"S.      Its nice knowing that one more Type 3 Dragon has gone down.  What a wonderful time it is for all of us - Especially 3"s.  Were not really the tame bunch are we? Really hard to control let alone kill the Virus.   3"s really have a special place in my heart!  I"m really glad you made it.  Congratulations    RC

https://goo.gl/images/1XS8Qt

my results today show Alt levels went from 190 (0-50 range) in October 2016 and are now at 17 biggrin

they said my bloods were all good so now have to wait until October for next draw. I have no liver damage ...

feeling on top,of the world apart from still having a few joint problems I am feeling very lucky and privileged to receive not only treatment but the continuous support from all of you...the past year has been a miserable haze and here I am undetected and a NANNY .... so so happy...gonna sleep well tonight.

Epclusa is amazing and such a relatively easy drug to take....I am eternally thankful ...today the world ...for me....is a much more beautiful place ...Hallelujah xxxxxxx
