Tidbit Inserted: "genocide" is a combination of the Greek word génos ("race, people") and the Latin suffix -cide ("act of killing"). I wanted to use the term genocide and somehow make it fit into my analogy.

The Race in this case is of course the 56m short lived HCV RNA count.

The act of killing is on the other side of the battle. Epclusa. The fact it stops replication is a lot like how West Nile and other Virus are fought. In that battle science sends out sterile Mosquitoes. The intent is to stop replication. During that study I ran across the fact that only female mosquitoes are blood suckers. I realized very quickly I needed to immediately close the book on that one with not a word about it.

Anyway, where were we?

Amazing drug this Epclusa, ...It took me from 56million to Zero in 4 weeks. Kaboom.

On August 21, 2017 there was no Hepatitis C virus detected. We will check again for the virus on September 18, 2017.

I am flat-out amazed at the effectiveness of this drug. And of course, Grateful!

Other labs no surprises ALT went down a bit, bilurubin up a tad.
