Good one 5...Was gunna take a stab in the dark and say probs bout 36 hours, knowing you take it very early morns, but also knowing there is a big difference in times dependent on where you all are in North America. The biggest difference for here is in summer when a couple of our states don't have daylight savings. During winter the diff between east and west is 2 hours. I know it is a lot more than that in your country.

hi C,

maraca's and macarena's , it's all happening.

harvoni came in bottles for me and blister pack for hubs. i liked the bottle cos i could use the weekly pill container.

well, since i went back in time with my pills [changed back to 3am from 3pm], my pills stop monday the 25 but at 3am  rather than 3pm west coast U.S. pacific time.

i started on a tuesday so monday is the last pill [7 days to the week ]

so i take a pill at 3am sunday and monday and that's it...... less than 12 hours to 2nd to last pill, then 24 hrs from there to last pill.

so technically, 1 sleep till last pill. that would be sunday 3am -sleep. monday pill and it's over........when i go to sleep after that pill there will be no more pills .

that's funny, how many sleeps left.hahahahaha

your sense of humor has def made this a more fun ride C. thanks so much

5,

How many sleeps??

... it will be fun to have no pill to take when i get home from working monday nite." ...

I figured your May 1 SOT would put your last pill on Tues Jun 26??

But, never mind, I never could add, or count.

Just to keep ya busy and distracted from all that water intake drudgery/bathroom output duty. I'm going to find a poem for ya that I wrote about myself - if I can locate it!, it 'splains my inabilties/difficulites with math ... later. wink C.

Tig, I think STL plays the maraca (with her rattle-y epcusa bottles), I remember that beat well myself biggrin, but the Mav/Harv people are more the snap, crackle and pop accompaniment folk, rythmically popping those blister packs in time to the onward cure song! heehee

Wow, only 4 more sleeps 5!

Love your oasis('s)! What is plural of oasis? biggrin C.

Yes it has gone faster than expected. The first week seemed to be never ending. No doubt to do with the fears of how these magic beans would make me feel. Hope I can cope sort of things. what if what if lol....From there on its been a breeze. Glad you have managed to be in the run to the finish line now. Must be such an amazing feeling for you.

hi tig,

, yep 2 little pills in the weekly containter. so excited to be done with the treatment before i go back to work. it just makes it easier on me this way

it will be fun to have no pill to take when i get home from working monday nite.

i'm drinking water and relaxing, doing a few small projects that don't require much energy... took a short walk [yesterday] . and planning the same for this evening. just relaxing right now

i am catching up on lots of tv shows from amazon and netflix; even got a free week of hbo for this leg of the journey of resting a little more.

it's true what you said that it goes by fast... wow.

HEY!!  5,

What’s Sup? You’re getting down to the wire. How does that bottle sound? Kind of like a maraca! Those last few pills must sound ominously loud right now. Exciting times,

i did it! i dragged my tired body to the doctor today and got my medical time off. i go back to work monday, so that gave me 6.5 days off including my 3 days off and leaving work early monday.

i got my feet up and surrounded by water and remote controls.hahaha

i gained about 2 pounds but that will come off easily when i exercise regularly again; no worries about that.

and my skin stayed well during treatment , so my 2 worse fears of gaining too much weight and scary skin did not manifest. yay for my body

and UND. did manifest at 4 weeks. it's a beautiful thing.

ok, time to rest and relax; i had errands to run today and i am tired, but happy tired.

Good grief! Partying out of control! 5 booking off work, STL cracking open a third bottle. Tig twistin and shouting. And starting early too. Don't start without me! I'm still getting dressed. What - is this one of those long RAV type parties I have heard about that go on for days and days until everybody is out of everything? heehee. Um, will there be any cake?

Like .... this?

Good for you 5, finally taking a couple days off for yourself, to make for an extra break at your EOT. You deserve a little bit of time. Heaven knows you certainly were dedicated to not let them be short at your workplace - I know you were "doin it" and could have done it - but I am glad you did decide to take the days off. Tig's right (as always) you HAVE done this right! We will all see, that one can have your cake AND eat it too! biggrin C.

I have to go off to google up uggs now! confuse

Our ship, train or plane is a come as you are and as my family and friends tell me, I’m glad you’re here, now we have somebody to drive! I’m the designated driver and car keys collector, wherever and whenever the need arises. Actually it’s quite hilarious to watch people get silly throughout the party. With our new smartphones and cameras, I always have some photos I can use for future favors, if necessary, lol!

Don't worry about the bunions, we’ve all got something that doesn’t look like it did back in the 70’s! Boy do I ever.... I forgot about those crazy Afros! We did know how to have some fun. Good times!

Glad alls going well 5....6 days to go and counting. Time does seem to be flying I have 5 left of bottle number 2 and  bottle number 3 ready to cruise on into EOT. (lot of numbers there ROFL) Ill be a little arriving at the party. Hope the ship doesn't leave without me.

Ill have to wear me uggies or thongs I fear....The platforms wont work with my bunions i'm afraid.  Ill have to cover the footwear up with my flares. Ive shrunk a few inches over the years so hope they will be long enough to cover these b.... feet. Flares are in good order and the bell sleeved top looks as good as it did in the seventies. Hope I the afro perm is not compulsory.

I will have to wait to let you know if I will be travelling on the alcohol flows free side of the ship Tig or the teatoatallers section. (Never been told not to drink in all these years, till the magic beans arrived and I was told no drinking while on treatment) LOL

You’re getting close, girlfriend! The “end is near”... I expect you to have your dancing shoes brightly polished and ready to go. I think I‘ll put you in charge of our upcoming cruise. I’m old enough to remember Disco and I’m giving you the first dance! Wait til you see my John Travolta moves, lol! I’ll probably pull a muscle...  wink

I know this is going to be a success!

not really, i'm doing my job well but my bosses are being very kind to me.......knowing that at a drop of a hat i could be one for medical leave

i get to rest and sleep the other hours i'm not working so it's not too bad.

we are short handed this weekend so i'm thankful i'm not flat out.; if it wears me out i can take medical next weekend when other ppl will be back

so, water ,rest and gentle food is my thing right now , got to get ready for work soon-thankful to feel i can do it.

on the B12 for 2 days and everything is feeling better than it was. no stomach pain and a little more energy.

still some bloating, but all that water has to sit somewhere i guess , before it leaves my body

still sipping club soda and mint tea now and then thru the day and nite.

ok, gonna watch tv and drink water. i had a good day of fun projects and some chores and a great dinner with hubs....

another good harvoni day comes to resting time

and! i don't feel the need to go to dr and get time off; hoping this lasts

STLtums are :Generic Name: calcium carbonate, a small round disk that breaks easily in half or 4ths .

i guess i'm luck that a half works on me well enough. and another half at the correct intersection of time if needed.

i'm having a bit more stress at work right now and that is ususally when my stomach gets like this ; so this is just a tad worse due to all the other goings on with harvoni

still, i'm happy for some relief today and posibility of feeling better every day from now on with my new routines

as long as i can manage the painful symptoms i can work with the wozziness and just not feeling up to par.

hi observer

i remember using the yeast way back when.

i do pretty well with the gummies, so gonna stay with that for now.

in fact today i got some tummy relief.

3:30pm took my gummy

5pm had my vinegar & honey with my chicken

7pm took half a tums

also drank sips of club soda and mint tea thru the nite.

i still have some minor dizzy and feeling bloated inside but no pain in the gut.

i hope this helps tomorrow too ; minus the tums since i won't be working for 3 days.

if i feel good enough i'll just go to work and take the final week off if i need that.

all looks good from this now

Nutritional yeast is an excellent way of getting B12 from food instead of taking supplements. We shake it on to organic popped corn and sometimes drizzle soya sauce as well.

Ive mentioned before about psyllium husks for digestive issues... it helped me completely eliminate 10 years of IBS symptoms. Its an inexpensive powdery stuff that you mix a tablespoonful into juice.

Getting nutrition and on-going healing from food is empowering, just have to beware of fads or flavour of the month trends.

oh, ok. it might be different, but for sure the tums 4 and 4 hours.

i may have just assumed all calcium... so i got gummy b12 with not a drop of calcium, but i like the gummy better anyway.

i'm having a bit of relief in the bellyf for half an hour now and i like it, hope it lasts

Wow! I wonder if it is different with Harvani. I was told I should continue taking them as normal. I take them all together in the morning. (I was told that's fine) The one I was told I must not take for at least 4 hours is any antacid which I would not normally take anyway. There were a few others listed in my literature but none were relevant to me.

hi STL, i was told to wait 4 hours before or after for any calcium supplements.

i don't sup. with calcium cos it makes my hands swell

stopped all my others sups for the 8 weeks., but the b12 i stopped cos i was already wired from harvoni at first. now i think it will be a welcome thing to energize, and maybe help my stomach [it did way back when i began taking it].

i just didn't think to add it back.

i'm planning on going to the dr and getting some medical time off from work since it really is harder to work this way and i want to take care of myself.

now it's mostly stomach, fatigue and malaise.......

but my blood sugars are better than they've been in awhile

Hi 5, Sorry to read you have still been having a few issues. Lucky you only have 2 weeks left. I hit my halfway mark yesterday.

What is the problem with the calcium? Is that to do with the Harvani or with your other problems? I was told I should continue taking my Calcium, Vitamin D and Vitamin B as usual.

uhoh, so. i haven't been taking b12 for a few weeks, so that could also be a culprit.. was trying to not add anything but my gummy b12 has no calcium

so back to b12....... duh, like i said, so much to remember.

and b12 was helping my tummy and energy.......

hi scruffy,

chamomile stuffs up my nose , and i already can't use much in the way of allergy meds due to added issues right now.

i only have 2 weeks to go now, took my final 6th week pill just now and the mint tea is helping with lower gi, and club soda sips help with the upper gi

i do have gallstones and stopped using vinegar at harvoni time, and didn't think to use it during the day disbelief so will go back to that during the day to see if that helps.

that is another thing that i changed a cpl weeks ago...

so much to remember. hahahahaha ...... it's all good tho, small price to pay.

i do get get woozy , dizzy and headachy on and off... nothing too awful tho so i feel blessed.

i'll google the ginger  , that sounds interesting, thank you

Hi 5

Have you tried camomile tea? Also maybe a little crystalized ginger chew after you eat.

tig, i started the freeze dried mango when not on the tums, and didn't use a tums again till the next day after a cpl days of mango

right now i'm back to where i was before the episode so maybe it was too much sugar, i don't usually add sweet to my oatmeal. i can drizzle a little honey on my boiled chicken for dinner with no problem [makes it tastier and not as dry]

on my work chicken i use a quarter tsp mayo for the same reason and no problem.

so for some reason the mango seems the culprit by itself.. for now it's def off my list of edibles ; but i also had a small cupcake at work right before that episode.... so it might be the fat/sugar combo too.

i'm happy enough with everything else that is working out; so no cake for awhile is ok with me for now.

still sipping club soda and mint tea; i think they are ok- no calcium in them but i better read the label carefully.

INGREDIENTS

Carbonated Water, Sodium Bicarbonate, Sodium Citrate, Potassium Sulfate, Disodium Phosphate.

and for sure, this is a great place to be honest about the ups and downs of treatment. i feel safe and happy here

Hey Scruffy,

I remember those conversations, too! If memory serves me, it was all started when Brownie and Syd got started on an accidental wet fart. It was intercepted by Jimmie and Linuxter and we were left laughing for quite awhile! It’s fun to have a group of people that can have a good time together. We can relate to the good and difficult times during our journey to the cure. That’s what has made this forum one of the best. Brothers and Sisters all....

Hi 5, (I like that!)

Is it possible the sugar in the Mango is partly responsible to your gastric imbalance? Do you sweeten your oatmeal? One other thing to keep in mind is Mango is very alkaline. If you’re taking an antacid and introducing Mango, you may be overdoing it and going too alkaline. That can cause as many problems as an acidic+ environment. Just a thought I wanted to run by you.

Ahhh I remember we had a post on farts some time ago. Hey 5 on Amazon they sell underwear that will mask fart smells. One of the reviewers wrote.  That they made her farts smell like spearmint. When she farted around people some one would ask if she had another piece of gum. She loved them she said people would smell spearmint and take a deep breath all the while they were smelling her farts. lol Anyway have a good week and take care. good luck with you and your treatments.

Scruffy

tig and canuck, so good to read your posts today.

i managed at work very well , i felt a little better with each hour and wasn't a completed drag.hahaha

my boss let me go even earlier tonite due to it being slow and i let her know that i'm happy going home earlier now in the last cpl weeks just to make it an easier time of it.

if something like this hits me in the last week then i will deff take the home run stretch off

thanks for laughing with me "as the harvoni turns the stomach". lolol

something i realized tonite as i reached for the freeze dried mango to add to my oatmeal , that's what is different. i added those a cpl days in a row and maybe it set something off that made the gas bad.

but for sure the mint and club soda are a good remedy for the bloated gassed up feeling as well as the sick stomach..and i don't need gobs of either one, just sipping here and there. it even calmed that super starving feeling that i was getting too.

could be the harvi combined with gallstones and mango..for now i'm sticking with the routine that seems to be calming things down.

and for sure, i'd rather burp and fart than have that all stuck up in there

hubby should be getting his 6 month labs next week so i'll def be posting about that next week too.

for now i'm thankful my gut has calmed down, and my back isn't hurting...

another harvoni day coming to a good close.

and thankful these flares don't last too many days in a row.

thanks for the fun and support friends

5

Oh my 5, remind me never to go grocery shopping with you! heehee - Oh such language and sounds effects and mental images, sorry for the troubles (really) but you had to paint a picture I could not resist teasing you about. Paint peeling? How to clear a room 101.

I am perplexed about your gastro effect complexities, you know best what might or might not help, can't really make any suggestions other than doing whatever it takes to make sure you keep the bowels open (gaseous or not), so as to not get too much build up - with the amount of unpredictable uncertainty in how you might be feeling/doing (on any given day) have you considered just booking off (period) - that would take all the pressure off, no expectations, no demands, no juggling and you can just coast at home to the finsh. But all and all you sound like you are countering and coping very valiantly. C.

Hey 5,

You’re getting there and I’m glad you’re doing the things necessary to get there. If it takes a wall paper melting fart or feeling the need to run for the dairy section and blame it on rotten cheese, so be it! You do whatever it takes! Follow someone with a toddler in diapers, you have a perfect fall-guy in them, lol! (Works for me, ha, ha,) no

woke up less dizzy today, i like that.

still with the stomach issues going on, hitting the club soda and getting some relief.

my upper back began hurting last nite, hoping its a muscle ....could be part of the whole painful gas thing going on.

feeling just well enough to get in the shower and get ready for work; will see how long i can make it tonite.

eating light and easy to make things easier on my gut.

trying to save any medical time off in case this all gets more uncomfortable.

amazing to know only 2weeks and 2 days to go

i know from the past that indigestion can make me dizzy too...... so harvi and gas are ganging up on me in these last days of tx. i trust i can manage it all somehow

i'm half way thru my 5th week and so far this 5th week has brought some interesting sides.

about 18hrs after my pill i get dizziness, what feels like indigestion , weakness and fatigue.

i thot i had it figured out , first i thot it was cos i needed to eat [but having a chicken sandwhich does help], then i thot it was that i drank too much water at one time [which i have been able to do for weeks now].  but tonite it hit me hard at work and even after i ate i still was miserable so they let me go home early even tho i declined an earlier time out since i could still stand up and think.

i barely squeezed in a tums before the cut off time [4.5hrs], and it didn't do much good , so i'm on to other things

so..... these are def sides unrelated to what i'm doing at the time.

at home i used the heating pad, at work i drank some club soda w/ 7-up and that did help the nausea a lot, and helped me to burp.

so i went to the store and got ginger ale, mint tea and club soda..i don't care if my face has a small reaction to the ginger and mint........ i'm just trying everything now. [but after that club and 7 i let out a fart that could melt the wall paper at the store and i felt better but ran out of the aisle confusedohdisbelief]

i will stick to club and 7 at work, taking my low sodium club and adding 7 at work.

and heating pad when i get home.

i don't even want to try to figure out how to change my pill to meet the new needs, just gonna muscle thru it and hope the sides move on or move to a different time .hahahahaha

ok, heat pad and club soda now.... still enjoying life, talking about 2.5 weeks to go and that i am cured!
