Sorry your in a bad place.

+1 for having your daughter take care of the cat. Do whatever you have to, put yourself first this is your time focus on getting better. Let all the BS go in one ear and out the other don't let the hurtful arrows hit there target. Keep drinking that water. You can smile at every one then come here and blow off that steam!!!!

I’m sorry you’re having to deal with this at any time of your life, but especially now. It might be a good idea to find a quiet place to complete your treatment. You don’t need this. I can understand not wanting to leave your cat without proper care. Can your daughter take her home until you’re through? That might free you up from that constant concern. Whatever it takes, just finish treatment! Doesn’t your Mr. understand what this is all about? How completely unfair this is for you.

Keep your distance and avoid any confrontation. That’s easier said than done, but try. We’ll be here to talk...

Your own mom? no I want to cry. How can people be so ****ing cruel?  I really dislike mean people. Or what's the bumper sticker? "Mean people suck." I just got screamed at again about the heat.  ...I had begun to open windows at the back end of the house  because it was just as hot outside as inside down there, which is where I spend most of my day because it is to freezing in the room that has the AC, besides I hate the garbage tv that the Mr. Is glued to all day. He just stormed off again slamming the door between the AC room and the back of the house, I told him fine whaterver I don't have the energy to  fight, and that pissed him off, all the stuff behind the door fell and he yelled at me all down the hall, I'm so triggered to respond but am trying to get past that. It's one of the reasons I was absent so much. I have spent  a ton of time in counseling and domestic violence groups, Al anon. Little helps and I was frequently suicidal over these outbursts. With the hep always looming, the "what the hell is the point" hovered me constantly. I have only recently gained the support of my mother but not to the degree that she would have the mr. evicted from her house. (She owns the house we live in) I didn't have that early on when things were even worse. Mom had told me flat out to never come home with a baby. Her and my dad were always telling me to work things out, ya right, they had no clue and I didn't either then. Thought keeping the family together at all costs was the thing to do. Little did I know 30 whatever years later I would be a shredded shell of a woman. I'm hoping this treatment will give me the energy I need to move forward. I was always so sick I could never work more than part time. The holidays at the flower shop would require about a week or more of recoup. Grrrr. I'm so sad right now Im thinking I will have to do the course of these meds somewhere that I can relax. One place is moms, another is a friend who lives about a half hour away. But I may not have mentioned I also have a cat (the last one) who is needing subcutaneous fluids twice a week which my daughter comes to help with. I fear this cat won't survive the summer (shes 16)  and I really don't want to leave her and I can't bring her to either of these places.

I'm just not in a good place tonight and I was really tired today, drank more water and napped a bit.

Iris

Try your best to keep cool physically and mentally. I know that was a big point with the meds I was on. Shame you have to deal with people that don't understand but it is what it is. My Mom would argue with me about the air until I couldn't catch my breath (hb was that low) at that point one time she jumped up and down with glee telling me "die thats right die thats what i want I want you to die". Now shes in a nursing home powerless and doesn't even know who I am. Karma is relentless keep it on your side. When stuff bothers you tell us we will listen. Neck is probably nerves keep your throat wet drink lots of water.

A good sense of humor will serve you well though this. Scruffy

Oh dang Scruffy that sucks. I'm sorry you had to deal with that. They do wear you down, I'm to the point I have to not care, not react and not think that they will ever hear ANYONE, it's just so sad. You want to hate them and maybe we do, they have just caused so much Friggin damage and they are never accountable. It's disgusting.

My brother was such an ass, that he made a scene at the Lawyers office and was asked to leave. AAaaaaand it's my fault and the lawyers fault and my moms fault .criminy maybe I should go to rants. But these meds seem to unravel me a bit. I'm pretty pissed off at him and husband who just threw a block of ice because I said it was as hot outside as inside (the kitchen it's blocked off from the cooled room) (I was just getting home with ice cream and popsicles) Then he called me a **** because heeeeeee knows better the temp and I know nothing. The baby went and stormed off...and good riddance, rather not see he narcissistic mug anyway.

But back to my neck and throat. It's hurting again, pretty sure it's stress related rather than the meds but it all came on after the first pill. Could be psychosomatic. The throat may have to do with not drinking enuf water, I'm really trying though definitely consuming more that I ever have in my life. I wonder if the virus is sluffing off in my tonsils, today it is bugging me again. But like I said it's been a stressful day, am relaxing in front of the fan drinking waster having ice cream for dinner, then I'm going to a meeting...They are very helpful and it will be good to go sit in central AC.

Blessings

You can do this its just a thing. I too had Mom issues while on treatment. She had dementia and I was her sole care giver. Shopping, cooking laundry etc. where all on me. The first time I had to get a transfusion from the riba was a over nighter at the hospital. My Mom told the neighbor I had watching her "how dare he go to the hospital he knows how sick I am" lol now thats a narcissist. Take it day by day my dear. Treatments are a lot shorter now. As we used to say "keep your eyes on the prize".

Best for you Scruffy

most stores carry some kind of ant houses. raid is the one i have, but most are good....... they come  4 in a box and you can use the sticky pad that comes with them to put them on the side of a wall or on the floor.

the ants eat the stuff and take it home to feed the rest of the colony......better than trying to kill them all as the invade. of course that is good to get rid of an invasion at the moment

if you use the bait outside too that helps to keep them from coming in the house. i have them all over now

i'm so glad you can get away to your moms house...sounds like a nice get away

Thanks, I would love to fly to a retreat.! I really, really need that

Unfortunately both bro and Mr. are Narcissists they DO NOT CARE. It's all about them...and  they do all kinds of shenanigans to screw things up and piss one off. I frequently go to my moms to get away from this.

Do you have the name of the ant bait??

hi iris,

ants, i had that last year. i put those little plastic ant houses in various locations and it really works. My mr drops his crumbs here and there too. but those little raid ones you can stick next to fridge in the bathrooms etc really do help.

and i have lots of crazy ppl at work too

i like tig's idea of having a treatment retreat for the durations..... water everywhere

true dat tho, the water and the rest are a must.

put the ant traps up, grab your water and put your feet up..... and next road trip make sure the water jugs and snacks are loaded. can you stay the nite at mom's if you need to make this trip again? with ant traps up you'll come back to fewer ants too.

i use lots of ice and heat on my back ,neck and arms...i have rhumatoid arthritis and yea, it got more squeaky on tx on some days....

i'm so glad you are taking the treatment and getting thru it somehow even under less than ideal conditions.

lots of ppl came together to make sure we got cured.... we are that special, we deserve it

hang in there iris, this too shall pass and you will look back and think "wow, i did that!"

Times like this Iris, I just threaten to leave home! - I can imagine how you are feeling, ants in my pants and all! It's not funny, it's weird tho, isn't it, when these are all our fav people too! I get maddest at the people I love most!

When it is time for Mom to go home - tell her your bro should be driving her home as you are sick, (doctors orders to NOT overextend yourself and to get more rest!) - dial your bro's phone number, hand the phone over to her, and tell her, let her ask him for a ride home. Try that, or something like that - does your daughter drive, or have a car of her own? Can she drive your car? Do you and your partner only have the one vehicle to share? Ask your partner to drive your Mom home? Look for something to relieve some of the burden. That's all I can think of at the moment. C.

I'm glad the neck and sore throat are improving. But that does it, I'm buying some property in a nice location, something that suits us all, private airstrip and I'll fly ya'll in to our own little piece of Heaven. The Dragon Commune we can call it. A place we can all come to get cured in a supportive environment among friends. Wouldn't that be great? I guess I better buy a few extra lottery tickets and get my pilot's license, oh... and a plane! biggrin

I could talk to the Mr. till I'm blue in the face he couldn't care less about me. Let alone lift a finger to help, oh I take it back he feeds the cat makes coffee and waters like a crazy person... I'm mostly on my own here. That was a great concern to do this even. I have no support really, daughter is not always readily available. To top it off we had an ant invasion while I was gone, spent most the morning cleaning them up. Because Mr. %$#@! continues to leave stuff out that they will swarm to. It's miserable. My mother is elderly and needs my help right now, the timing isn't good. She has to stay with us for a couple days while she sees a lawyer. I may have to drive her back, Bro is flaking too.

On the upside, my neck isn't as sore today and my sore throat is gone.

Iris

Iris,

Listen to us when we say TRY to take it easier, slower, do less, try to get others to do more, instead of you. YOU have to take charge of and care of number one - YOU are first for a change!, no substitutions, just tell them all, that for now, you must/have to concentrate of staying quiet, calm, well watered, well fed, well rested, conserve energy, and be a stress free as possible - sounds boring i know, but just do it - withdraw into a selfish, self-nurturing/self-preservation mode - they (your family) will not like it as the world seems to revolve around them, but right now they are going to have to cope, without you, while you are on this potent treatment, it is only temporary. Lay low girl, stay at home, be quiet, take little walks in the cool of the evening, stop with big events and excursions and must-do's. If things don't get done, they don't get done

Never, never let yourself get overheated and low on water, ever. Any sides, or just not feeling well things, are only going to be more noticable, exacerbated by anything else that is wearing down on you, such as your normal impediments of fatigue, old and new stressors you will be experiencing - those alone are enough to deal with while you are on these strong treatment drugs, you HAVE to protect yourself as best you can by conserving and treating yourself well, and quietly. Rest.

I can't really guess what you have done to your neck, maybe it's justa "wry" neck?, brought on by some unrealized motion injury, made worse by bodily stress? - I don't know - but I would be worried if you were suddenly deathly ill with a high fever and splitting headache with it all at the same time! C.

Well it's bearable, just super stiff when I turn my head, and I have always gotten a sore throat and extra tired and achy when I over due things or am under lots of stress, it is like catching the flu but I don't get sick. I always attributed that feeling to the hep.

Maybe it's the fibromyalgia or complications from Epstein-Barr. I never know. Also I do not tolerate heat well and as most of the nation we broke heat records in my town over the weekend.

Daughter and I went to the lavender festival but were only there for lonly ike 2 hours (in the early am) and I was done. Like well done, lol ! Felt pretty crummy the rest of the day, and probably didn't drink enuf water. My chalice is at home, I've had to come pick up my mother to bring her to the lawyer. About a 400 mile round trip. Daughter came along, weve been here all weekend, we leave in the am to go back to the Valley. My bro will take Mom back home after her appt.

I feel like I'm not making sense, that has become an issue too.evileye

Hi Iris,

You may have some increased aches and pains, but nothing should be as severe as you’re mentioning. I’ve never heard of anyone developing a sore throat from it. Is there a chance that you may be coming down with a bug? Are you running a fever or anything that might tip you off? Have you been around anyone else that has been sick? So many variables and possibilities.

Be sure you’re hydrating and taking it easy during this. If you’re coming down with something, the old norms apply. Rest, fluids and Tylenol for the aches and pains. If you’re continuing to feel poorly tomorrow, give your GP or Hepatologist a call and see if you can get some advice. Sorry you’re feeling like poo cry

Is this a normal side effect of Harvoni? My neck is killing me and I am getting a bit of a sore throat on and off but then that was a normal symptom of my hep...for me anyway.

Iris
