Congrats on a happy summer Lamont! Glad to read that you are feeling better after all the gut and liver issues. Wonderful news!!

That's the thing.... we are so fortunate to have these drugs. I have had acute HepA, and it was really awful. And to think that HepC would have eventually been just like that, only without chance of ever recovering.

We take so much for granted, until it's gone. Not taking my liver for granted anymore, that's for sure!

"See the light"....

Thanks for the Hello...

Alaska is not like anywhere else I have been, that's for sure. But there are a lot of places I still need to see, like Equatorial Africa, Austrialia/NZ , Borneo, Tasmania, and the vast continent of South America. Everyone says that the Andes are the most amazing place....so of course I have to go!

I just have to figure out how to finance all that travel!

Being UND, you'll be feeling better, a little at a time, until you wake up one day, and say...."Oh, jeez...I feel ...good." And I do recommend figuring out a way to see Alaska, it's really one of the few places left on the planet that isn't over run with cars, people and cars and people and ....

Canuck, Hi!

It's amazing how a happy liver can improve the overall quality of life thing. When my liver was busy being sick, it affected my whole deal. The recovery has been gradual but if I compare how I felt just before diagnosis to how I am now, there is no comparison.

It's nice not giving a crap about taking a crap. The HepC thing had totally turned my digestive system in to a human lottery, I rarely felt good, at all.

The myth that HepC has no "major symptoms" is total BS, and if you have HepC, you probably don't feel like you did 10 years ago.

Sure, you can have the virus without any overt signs of illness, for a while, even decades, but someday....as we all know, you will really feel it.....

So glad to be able to check in and just say. I feel good today.

Tig, Southern Florida is the Polar Opposite of Alaska. I bet you would love the crisp, cool air, the bumpy landscape Alaskans call "moun uns" all the clean, clear water rushing in the canyons, the endless days, and nights.

They literally live on Halibut, Salmon and other interesting things.

I recommend the tour thing, at least the first time you go.

There is a lot to take in, so you'll have to go at least twice, maybe more.....

Hey Lamont

great to hear from you.

Living HCV FREE is so awesome. I too am coming up on 3 years of being a dragon slayer.

Id like to go to Alaska but being a complete weirdo, I would want to go in the winter. I have never been a fan of hot weather, but then again I think the wildflowers are unique and lovely up there so I guess maybe that would be a good trade off for me and my camera.

Hey Ol Friend! Good to hear you’re still kickin! Nice that things are continuing to improve. I can relate to the age related stiffness, however. I don’t think we’re going to escape all of this alive anyway, so lets enjoy what we can get away with, lol!

Alaska sounds great. My wife and I would love to get up there someday. It’s quite a journey from southern Florida though. We tend to go the other way when we can afford to do anything. I’ll keep wishing and watching Nat Geo in the interim. We’re renting a class A motorhome in a few weeks and traveling through Appalachia for a week. That should be a nice ride and will go to a WVU football game on the way. Should be fun.

Enjoy the scooter and watch out for those touristy types and their mobile phones!

I seem to be continuing to improve, little by little, my 3 year battle with icky-gut-constipation-abdominal-liver-pain has nearly gone. All that's left is the expected aches and pains of being a 66 year old.

I like it better.

We went to Idaho, Montana, Wyoming for our usual Summer trout scaring trip, then up to Alaska where we found bigger fish. So we ate them. Alaska is flat out amazing. I would live there, at least in late Summer, when the Moose flies are gone and the sun is shining on the beautiful autumn colored trees. I can't wait to go back for another trip, maybe for a few months?

In between all that, I 've been getting plenty of butt time on my new2me moto. Up the coast, down the coast, scare the tourists a little, visit the bakeries, that sort of thing.
