cheddy, my forum friends here got me thru my tx and after tx too. And i felt so confident seeing so many ppl cross the line to zero here

and i still love it here after 13wks und. ; it's like i made my way thru the maze with all these great peeps and it just feels right to hang out here a cpl times a day.

i know i feel better than b4 tx, but still not myself all the time yet; so it's still good to hear ppl tell their journey.

i'm so glad you decided to be part of the admin.

Dear friends,

Thanks so much for the welcome. I'm happy to help.  I'd like to tell you why I'm here.

I relied heavily on the forum when I was on treatment.  I had a very sad time.  I felt lonely, helpless, deeply foggy, useless, Ribivirin angry, and pretty sure I would never be the same.  Not so good, right?  I pretty much sequestered myself to do no harm.

My best friends we here on the forum. Who knew? Nobody else got it - not even my medical community! My closest people didn't get it, and I hoped they would never have to.

My journey was short.  I was diagnosed in December and started treatment in March, and finished in May.  In July, I was out trail walking when my husband said, "I can't believe it. I'm out walking in the woods with my honey, and she's whistling."  It took more time to get back to normal, but eventually I progressed to my old self.  No more joint pain, nausea, less and less fatigue, less and less fog.

I had relied so heavily on the forum that I felt a little guilty for withdrawing over time.  But I wasn't a HepC victim anymore and I didn't want to get stuck in the identity.  Stepping aside was part of the healing in my case, but I was always grateful and lurked in occasionally, (ok, I forgot my password) to see how things were developing.  I made donations.

Remembering the power of good help and camaraderie, I felt myself quite at home when I checked back in.  I'm well and I still like it here. So I'm ready to help when I can.

Thanks again for welcoming me.  We are survivors!

Best to all,

Cheddy
