Hi Carol,

There have been many complaints of increased arthralgia/arthritis following the administration of the new DAAís. Itís difficult to say how long it will last, but most get relief within a few weeks following the end of treatment. If you canít control the discomfort with over the counter anti inflammatory meds, like Tylenol or Ibuprofen (my go to), you need to seek your doctorís advice. There has been no reason given for this EOT side effect, it just affects some people, especially those that had some arthritis beforehand. I wonder if itís related to some immune system function that causes the joint surfaces to inflame, similar to the discomfort arthritis causes. Thatís just a guess on my part, but it seems plausible.

My bad arthritis didn't bother me at all during treatment, but for the past week I'm hurting all over.† How long does it take to it to go away after the virus is gone?† Or is this something else?†
