Thanks man....I will really try to add my signature line shortly.    I have found the Vosevi much better tolerated than the Harvoni...and I am very hopeful.   I see the doctor in 10 days and he will give me the results of my last bloodwork.   I have no cirrhosis and my liver seems good.  Im sure the itch thing is unrelated but was just checking.   I did an ultrasound and fibroscan and everything seems really good.   I will keep you posted after results....thanks

Hey Android!

Aside from yer bum, how is ya otherwise?

We haven't heard from you much since your SOT (around March 20?), I have to assume everything has been going relatively OK for you?

Hey, see my post to you (below) from March 19, where I was drafting you a suggested signature line - please do feel free to use any of that to create a signature line for yourself - sig. lines are good handy info things for everyone to refer to.

It is so nice you are posting here - there are not so many of us Vosevi people to provide and share info for the benefit of others who may follow. : )

On the "pain in the butt" issue, do get it checked out (as Tig suggested). It may have absolutely nothing to do with treatment, it could be happening for many reasons from soup to nuts, anal irritation (or itching) could be anything from pin worms, to dehydration, constipation, an overgrowth some yeasty or other flora which can lodge on mucosa (or maybe you got rectal itch for no darn good reason at all - and it may just go away as fast as it arrived - how long have you had it now?). A quick boo and chat with the doc might give you a script for something soothing that will thwart the itch quickly. Would be nice to inhibit that which might be inhabiting you. : )

Well ... what blood draws have you done since your SOT, when and what were the results??

Congrats - you are ALMOST finished!!!!!!!! : )  C.

You’re the first person I’ve heard from that has had issues with anal itching, on any of the new DAA’s. There are reports of generalized itching in some cases, but not anal specific. If you recall past NS3 protease inhibitor, Incivek, then you remember the nightmare of horrid anal itching and outright burning it caused. We called it “fire in the hole”... It was severe and caused many to stop treatment.

The common treatment was purely symptomatic and aside from suffering through it, the use of antihistamines, oatmeal sitz baths and hydrocortisone creams were used. Be sure you mention this to your doctor. There’s nothing more aggravating than uncontrolled rectal itching, the discomfort is real, not to mention embarrassing when it flares up while in the company of others.

Well I have 6 days left of my 12 week Vosevi program. Here is a crazy question....has anyone ever heard of anal itching while treating for Hep c as a result of the drugs?

Oh yes, Android.  This will do it.  I'm so glad you got approved for Vosevi.

I know how defeating the fatigue can feel, but getting rid of the HepC anchor will help.  It does take time, sometimes even after treatment, but it sure is the right thing to do, and, it will get better.

Keep us posted.  We are pretty devoted to seeing this through.  Kick it hard.  It's your time to have this over with!

Drink, drink, drink, lots of water.  It keeps the side effects down

WOW lamassu.  I just saw your update. That's incredible! Happy!

Hi Android6,

Sorry to hear of your relapse and the brutal fatigue. I had the same, before Epclusa I was walking with a cane and could not walk to my mailbox without sitting down to rest. Using a shopping cart at the store to lean on. At end of treatment my fatigue was gone, I no longer need a cane and get around fine and exersize every day. Have faith, once Vosevi clears the virus your fatigue will lift also. Please keep us informed and best wishes!

It is better to stick to one thread and keep your discussion in a central location, such as the On Treatment section, especially since you have started again. I can change this thread to represent that, if you choose to continue here. It’s easier to stay current and on topic with one thread.

The use of a signature line is very valuable to those replying to your posts, too. I think Canuck explained the procedure well. If you need any assistance setting it up, let us know.

Hey Android!

Congrats on starting your Vosevi tomorrow! I see today, that you have made two recent posts, but they are in 2 dif areas, i think most often you have  started a new thread just about everytime you come back to the site to update us, or to ask a question.

But maybe now (now that you are starting your Vosevi treatment) you could try to post about this Vosevi treatment mostly on one thread (on an "On Treatment" thread) - it will make it easier for us to follow you if most of your info is in one place.

Also, a signature line would be very helpful (makes for easy reference for everyone) ... you could try something like this? ... until you can update it with better further info? ...

... M. 62 Y.O. Canada. HCV 30 years. GT 1?. Biopsy 10 yrs ago. Still stage 1 by (what test)? Pre-treatment VL 3,270,442. Pre-treatment ALT/AST? Failed first 8 week Harvoni treatment - SOT (day/month/2018) to EOT (day/month/2018). Labs during Harvoni ALT/AST? Failed Harvoni tretament with post-Harvoni-treatment VL of 311,230 at EOT+12 weeks. ...  New(second) re-treatment with 12 weeks Vosevi  SOT March 20, 2019 EOT June 12, 2019? Pre-treatment labs just prior to Vosevi start ALT/AST? ...

Please correct this suggested sig line, or add items, or create one of your liking. And do let us know and/or add info like ... if you have had any abd. ultrasounds and/or fibroscans, or what any of your recent labs are (LFT's) like ALT's/AST's. All of these bits of info are helpful data.

Did they provide you a schedule of when you will have bloods drawn for VL's and LFT's during your 12 weeks of Vosevi?

I am sorry that you have been having fatigue feelings - I also had bad fatigue prior to cure, and it took a while for the fatigue to leave, but eventually, thanks to the cure, it did! Everyone is different as far as how they feel before, during and after treatment. Hopefully you will sail right through this and on to the cure you should have already earned. Vosevi will do it for you this time! You mentioned work, should you need time off can you take some leave? We have had lots of folk around here work right through their treatments, but it is always nice to know you can bank on time off should you decide you want it/need it.

Happy day one tomorrow! C.

Hi Mike,

Fill us in, Brother. What’s your time table for Vosevi? I know how tough relapsing is and nothing I can say will take away the sting of that disappointment. However, I can tell you this, I have no knowledge of anyone failing to respond to the rescue course of Vosevi. Once you get the chance, it will be successful. I don’t say that without confidence!

Good to hear from you, Mike.

Have you started the Vosevi yet?  If not, do you know when you will. What a great treatment it is.  I hear it's much more tolerable then Harvoni and so highly effective.  I can't wait to hear when you hit that target and get to enjoy being (finally) HepC free.  Take aim. You'll be a sharp shooter this time.

Hey, Hi again Android,

Nice to see you back again with your good news.

So, after our Nov chats, you finally got to see that new "wizard" doc you had mentioned before, the doc who you thought you might switch to, and he confirmed yesterday he is going to get you on vosevi?

Perfect news!

I think you said in the summer that they were expecting to make you wait at least 6 months for re-treatment after your Harvoni failure, then, you might have also had a "wait" to see this new doc?? Regardless of how it went down and the timeline of the past, we will just celebrate with you today that the new doc is going to fast track you for vosevi! Ideal for you. : )

How have you been feeling physically, do you have any new labs results to share?

I am thrilled for you. C.

Hey Mike,

It’s good to hear from you! You should be jumping for joy over that. Vosevi is the drug of choice (IMO) when anyone relapses on any DAA. The medical community agrees that it’s the best option available.

Vosevi will do the trick, it’s a 3 way whammy and the Dragon doesn’t stand a chance against it. It’s very rare that we witness relapses now, but sadly, until these treatment success rates hit 100% every time, we’re going to have them sneak into the equation. With Epclusa, Mavyret and Vosevi, I think we’re going to see the rates of success approaching the golden 100% mark.

I wish you all the best and invite you to share your journey with us, again. We’re here for you  and will enjoy riding the Vosevi Train with you!

Went to see a new doctor yesterday and he immediately fast tracked me for Vosevi.  I know I do not post often but wanted to thank everyone on this board for their encouragement last November when I got the news that I failed on Harvoni.

I felt more than a little disappointed and this board was a source of hope and encouragement for me.

Thank you everyone for all the good vibes.  I feel great hope again.
