What’s normal? My grand daughter (4yo) constantly reminds me, “Paw Paw, you silly!” I’m more than happy to enjoy a silly normal after all these years, lol! SVR brings all kinds of new normal’s and that alone makes for a bright day!

Good description Obs.  It does sort of sneak up you. Normal can be a surprise. It's a cool thing to celebrate...in case you need an excuse.

 Yay! Normal! Well, kind of.

GO Woody! Hey my friend, one success at a time, okay? You just killed a formidable foe. One you’ve been packing for decades. You got the heavy lifting done with SVR, the rest comes. Some slowly or some not at all, but there will be improvements. Without a serious disease to be running down your immune system and health in general, your body will begin to recover and repair from all those years of constant battle. Trust me, you will be better for it!

Hey woody!

Big congrats on your SVR12 UND! Epclusa sure cured you.

I am glad you are getting to feel a little better, i remember when you first finished your epclusa back in Oct, you were feeling a little disappointed that you were not feeling well or not really feeling much better yet in November.

Quite a few of us have felt slow to feel "better", and/or to notice changes to the good after treatment. Some of us do experience some changes quickly, some of us don't.  I was still noticing improvements a year after treatment, and even longer. Some things improved quickly, some took a while, some things are still changing for me. The "new normal" is sometimes hard to discern, maybe it's hard to discern when your body has been so used to operating under the influence of a chronic infection for so long - perhaps we no longer recognize what normal should be. The good changes may "evolve" as your body adjusts to no longer harbouring the chronic hep c. But you are correct - it is HUGE that you no longer have this chronic infection. Your liver and your body will be thanking you for that fer sure.

I am so glad that you did end up deciding to take the plunge and go ahead and get treated, i recall (at first) you were hesitant, and vascillating just prior, but ended up deciding you should try. Good thing you did. Now you are virus free - and the body can operate better, as it should, without always being hindered and harmed by the hepc.

Yay for Woody and epclusa. : )  C.

EXCELLENT NEWS WOODY!

More energy is a great bonus.  I gradually gained more energy over three months and, over time, returned to an old self I had almost forgotten.  I'm hoping it keeps getting better for you, too.

It looks like the young folks have got it made, thanks to the pioneers and scientists who brought us this far.  Some medical facilities are now even doing liver transplants with HepC infected livers, having every confidence they can be cured.  There are a lot more available as a result.  Wow.

Good work getting yourself cured, Woody.  CONGRATULATIONS!

Hey there, my final blood work cleared me of the virus. Good news i guess. I really don't feel any different than i did before. Seems all the little things i complained about while doing treatment have disappeared. I wouldn't say i have a lot more energy, however i did quit smoking last yr and so its hard to tell if its that or the treatment that has given me more energy.

So, all in all so far the treatment has been positive as i don't have hep c now apparently.

Lets hope this is a long time cure for the younger folks, i only need 15 more years or so. smile

Woody
