That's some good health care, mpls.  I'm glad to hear you are feeling so well and have the energy and discipline to keep it up.  So keep on keeping it up.  It's working!

Now I want a test, a celebration test I'll call it.

Your doctor is correct regarding the high rate of success that Mavyret provides. There has to be someone out there that failed the treatment, but I have never met or talked to anyone that did. It’s very rare to not be successful on these new DAA’s. I think the people that do fail, have another reason for it. Things like a failure to follow the appropriate protocol, other illnesses that compromise the effectiveness of the medication, etc., are likely explanations for some of the failures. Even people that fail to follow up with study/trial requirements, are included in those failure percentages. So, my opinion is the success rates for people that pay attention and do their part, are closer to 99-100%. These medications simply work!

I do have annual testing done. It’s all part of my insurance wellness testing. As long as they approve it, why not? While a viral load isn’t necessary after SVR12, my internal med Doc always throws one in there. It’s always good to see that word “Undetected”, even after 5 years!

Going forward, they typically watch your annual liver enzymes. If they elevate, then a viral load is warranted to find out if HCV is responsible. Again, that’s rare.

Hello Tig:  Of course you will have good news. Do you check your labs once a year? I'm also wondering if you've heard of any Mavyret fails? (I hope not) I asked my Hep doc and he said it was at about 96-98% cure rate.  I haven't been following posts as much lately.  Keep us posted about your results. I love to hear "Not Detected" Like 5-1-19 said, "it never gets old".  :o)

P.S Canuck asked how I've been feeing and I am a lot less tired. I have so much more energy and I can go all day long doing several things each day. I used to be so tired, and I never knew it, I thought I had no symptoms, except for achy joints, and I'm still achy.  I quit smoking and drinking about 12 years ago. I try to eat healthy and exercise either walking, swimming or biking 3x per week. So, I'm happy as a clam to have normal labs and to be HCV free!!

That's music to my ears.  It's just such a great thing to put all of those worries behind you.

SVR is not too good to be true.  After all those years, it's becoming the new standard.

Congratulations, and thanks for posting your affirmative results.

Hello -- It's been a while since I've been here. I got my labs back this week. I completed 8 weeks of Mavyret on Feb 27, 2018. It's been 1 year.

HCV Not Decteded!! Wow

AST 16, ALT 17. and Wow

My gastro doctor didn't do the labs for me, he said I was cured and it wasn't necessary. I got my primary doctor to order the labs.  I think I finally believe that I am cured.  For over 40 years I had my ALT and AST checked every year and they were elevated. I no longer have to worry about my liver and my health.  I am so grateful and still amazed that the HCV is finally gone.

I wanted to share the good news. Hang in there fellow Mavyret takers! Chances are good that you too, will be cured!!  Peace and Love
