Congratulations, MissusB! Wow, what a fabulous Christmas gift you just received! I hope your husband can get his Crohns under control and your Mom’s hand heals quickly. This is hopefully going to be a healing time for all of you. I think things are looking good!

I’m so happy for you and am thrilled to hear this news, thanks for the update!

Hi to all.... been pretty hectic since Thanksgiving!  Been spending a lot of time with 87 yo mother as she recovers from a hand surgery.  Plus, My husband has Crohns and weve been dealing with a major flare up So Ive been playing nurse for about 6 weeks.   Today is the day... my 3 month post treatment follow up.  Hoping for good news... of course lab results will probably be delayed due to holidays but Im so ready to get this done.  Will post results when I know them.  Hope everyone has a happy holiday season.

Congrats MissusB! I did not have the option of Mavyret when I was treated as my Medicare HMO only covered Epclusa at the time. Now they cover Mavyret also since it costs less.

Thank you for your kind words, Mrs B! It’s nice to hear and I whole heartedly agree, there is no place like this place! Like you, I received friendship and support from so many. All those years ago, I made the decision to be part of helping others here. This forum changed my outlook on so many things, all good.

As reluctant as I was before starting treatment , due to fear, I have become and always will be an advocate for treatment!  And I owe that all to this group...you guys calmed my fears, encouraged me, supported me.  All of you made this journey much easier!  Ive never met you but consider every one of you a tight circle of best friends!  I will always stay an active member of this group, supporting it financially, and encouraging other members on their journeys!  I will share my story far & wide...I have already told my doc if he encounters patients that are scared of treatment to have them call me and I will immediately introduce them to this group.  i still have a week of treatment and a wait for that 3 month lab, but Im feeling really positive about things now.  Thank you, my friends

You've been the poster member for all prescribed Mavyret. Your journey has helped to prove to all comers after you, that this stuff works. You have also shown us what an easy protocol this is to complete. Essentially side effect free and didn't require you to suffer through treatment. We need to continue to get the word out, these aren't the treatments of old and people need to be aware of their simplicity. No more sickness, just following an easy schedule and drinking lots of water. I believe that's something anyone can do. It's a wonderful thing!

Congratulations, Mrs B!! I never doubted your success, but when you hear it, it makes your heart skip a beat. It was one of those moments you’ll never forget. Once undetected, always undetected! Take it to the bank.

Only thing left is the final blood work in 3 months and you’ll be able to look at this in the rear view mirror, finally. Well done, MB, well done!

Ouchy whaaa whaaa ....poor you

i have annoying veins that roll away from needles in one arm..I do not even give the techies the choice to try the wrong arm... You have to be fierce with some know it alls... I had to have blood drawn every week during treatment because I was on Riba (which can cause hemoglobin to drop quite dramatically)

looking forward to hearing your results...can you access them online or do you have to see Dr?

I'd be talking to someone's supervisor or office manager. That's as unacceptable as it gets. What became of the blood draw, completed or does it have to be redrawn? If you have to go through it again, I'd raise hell... Good luck Mrs B.

Had the absolute worst lab tech today...Told her to draw from left arm (I know my veins), but she insisted on right arm.  She was whining to other staff that she hadnt had a morning break, her grandson kept her up all night with music blaring, and she was tired.  I kinda knew it was going to go downhill from her whining when she said lady, whats your name and birthday?.  Dug around with needle in my arm with a tight tourniquet on for about 5-6 minutes all the while mumbling that she didnt have time for this today. She said well, this is weird... have you drank any water today. To which I responded you just have no idea how much water Ive already drank today, but why are you asking?  No response so I guess she knew I was figuring out that she wasnt the ripest apple on the tree.  Still digging...no blood coming, changed tubes 3 times with no blood.  Finally on 4th tube, blood flowed.....she explained that the other 3 tubes had lost their suction capability and it happened frequently!!!  To myself Im saying WHAT???  This is a major metropolitan, nationally recognized research & teaching hospital and they have not 1, but 3 tubes in one lab draw station that is defective....I dont think  so!!!  I think they have a lab tech that either hates her job and just dont care or shes totally incompetent.

Glad you had a great time Missus B! I like the occasional cold beer too but have strictly avoided alcohol during my treatment. When I received my HepC diagnosis years ago I limited alcohol to small amounts but very rarely. My doc is probably never going to say, hey, a little alcohol is ok. I do intend to have a glass of champagne at my youngest daughters college graduation this December! Keep up the water girl, youre close to the end and you WILL be VL und! YOU GOT THIS!

No kidding. Isn't it amazing how much fun you can have anyway.  It's an internal cultural shift.  Being healthy actually trumps being buzzed.  Who knew?!

Beach Vacation with no beer, no wine, no oysters on half shell, no tanning...just lots of water, shrimp, sunblock, and beach umbrellas!  Had a great time!
