 Oh that so funny to read lmao but anyway should you want to learn more about telemedicine or anything in that nature, just hit me up. Sometimes, it's very interesting to know some other stories too especially with our elders lol

I don't think my mom would ever get a device, although she is ahead of me in that she has a throw away type cell phone she gets refilled at the mart.  My grandma is still afraid to use any gadget but when there was a need to visit a doctor especially during the lockdown, we managed to let her use our laptop to do the telemedicine at curogram.com  the experience was smooth yet she was anxious. Indeed, she still has to adopt but we are slowly getting there.

My mother was just like you, she resists technology until she turned 62! How amazing was that? right now she enjoyed reading the news online and reading ebooks bc I gave her an iPad. Give technology a chance coz it's here already ;)

Hi! biggrin ...no cell phone lady here....

I have purposely avoided making a portal to my provider, said I dont have the tech. And I'm not completely lying, it's all to confusing and in my mind downright discrimination against elderly and others who can't use or don't have access to proper devices.

Indeed you some points there to ponder. Privacy and Encryption are critical, so the government must provide security that can at least withstand thru whatever and of course to provide uniformity and confidence to the providers to use one compliance for all. That was an interesting post and the included links were as well, thanks. Until the various alphabet agencies decide what medical providers can and cannot do, I believe we‘ll continue to be required to use those provider portals. They will determine what’s acceptable encryption, or not. There’s a huge amount of potential liability, as discussed in the article on those found to have violated the transfer of PHI. Health care providers will continue to choose their own approved method of encryption in my opinion. At least until the government decides for us, or we give away our right to privacy.
