Hi guys,

Was thinking about this forum and how much it helped me, so thought I'd pop in to see if anybody was still here I knew. Things are great with me as well. Almost 7 years post-treatment I think? Time sure slips away. My liver tests have all been normal and my platelets have been creeping up every year now over 120. I had one last check with the liver specialist who treated me last, and she said to cross liver disease off the things I should worry about. It's really been a miracle and a new lease on life after 20+ years of stress and worry. Glad to see the good news all around. Take care all ... thanks for helping me though a really tough time. There is light at the end of the tunnel for sure and feeling lucky I was around to see it.

Hello Malcolm!

So nice to see your name on the message board again. It has been very quiet around here. The treatments have become so much easier, and accessible, people haven’t been searching for information. That’s a good thing, but it doesn’t spark up too many conversations. We’ve had a good run, but it’s about time to retire the forum after 16 years.

I‘m so happy to hear your cirrhosis is regressing. It’s nice to know that successful treatment does indeed lead to fibrosis improvement over time. We weren’t sure that would be possible, but thankfully so! My liver health (F score and LFTs) have been excellent, too.

How is Oz treating you? The news here has quieted down, but during the recent Covid outbreaks it sounded like your government had the entire country locked down for extended periods of time. Here too, but not to that extent. Florida thankfully didn’t do that. After living in Florida for 32 years we moved recently to north Georgia. I think of you often, but especially when the Masters is playing! How did the ribs heal after the Helen injury? Only to be followed by that Widow Maker! I hope all of that is well behind you.

Thanks for checking in mate, it’s so good to hear from you! My best to you and Lani…

Hi guys,

Just checking in. 9 years post SVR. All good. Still have 6 monthly liver ultrasounds to check for HCC.

LFT's remain normal and my Fibroscan is 5 which shows considerable regression of my cirrhosis.

Good luck to all on treatment.

Mlcolm
