Hey there, so here's an up date and an OMG realization ...I was glad to have recently run into the man who used to service our water filter, been a loooooong time maybe 20 years, I told him I needed to drink copious water and my filter probably needed changing. Well, he just left, come to find out the plumbers had installed it wrong when we remodeled the kitchen back in 2005. I had replaced the filter a couple times but they never seemed that dirty. Holy cow, have been drinking basically regurgitated tap water for over 13 years, coffee, everything all this time, ugh..I have a stomach ache. In any case he fixed it and now I have beautiful crystal clear sparklie refreshing, Water. He also installed a filter with Vitamin C for the showerhead. I heard those were excellent for detoxifying skin and I imagine those critters are coming out of everywhere, spit em out cry em out pee em out poo em out out with dead skin? I feel so lucky to have had this finally happen, yet† I find myself going through many changes in a day, been way more emo than normal.

this is going to be Great in the A.M.†biggrin

Made arrangements for the next delivery with the pharmacy it will come next Monday. I'll have to hang around until the Fed Ex guy shows. Well what the heck, I should be hanging around anyway wink So I'm excited, It will come in time to be charge up in the full Moon light once again!

bb, Iris

Just starting the third week, so 2 weeks down. Today I am really wiped out. I had to teach a class last night but it was talking, not all that physical. Sorta feels like I was rolled through one of those laundry wringers.

Thank for the great other ideas, I may have to invest in headphones that sounds good as does the library...do they have a bed there? lol! Good AC anyway.

So sore, and tired like a lead weight. BB, Iris

Speaking of good ideas, I've been liking the ideas I have been hearing from both 5 and Iris! I think Iris does need some extra tactics right now, to help her through treatment as easily as possible. I thought it good Iris when you mentioned going to a meeting, as there was A/C there, plus the people there are helpful, open, and know you and may have a pretty good idea what things may be like for you right now - they would be a good choice as an out and an away - good company. I liked 5's idea of the headphones/music as that is a pleasurable but handy "avoidance" tactic - when the two of you are pushing each others buttons, and one or the other cannot stop (it's so easy to be on "automatic"), avoidance works - if you must be cooped up in the same room at the same time, and you cannot leave the room, then the headphone/musac thing might work for a while, don't listen to him or the stupid TV, better yet avoid him entirely.

Better than sharing space with an irritating situ, avoid potentially volatile interactions, perhaps devise some further seperations, ie. depending on the time of day that you two would be drawn together into duelling territitory, instead,†find another place to go, even if it is just in the shower you are going to escape to for a 1/2 hour - plan to go out to an A/C mall near you at a certain time for a certain period of time?!, take a book, a water bottle and a cushion to sit on, and read a few chapters, you can do a reading marathon there and do walkabouts in the A/C mall, and, they are open late? - how about doing the library, it will have A/C, computers, etc. Find a second meeting group you can go to and join. Go to a public swimming pool for a paddle and a shower, look for some low key community events or a rec centre to go to. Depending on the time of day and temp, take a blanket and escape with your book and water to a public park and park it in the shade.† Late night walks in the cool of the evening ... anything to stay out of each other hair, proximity, to avoid the duelling hours - all to gain you one iota of non-conflict, you cannot count on the other person to change to accomodate your justifiable needs, so, you will have to be the one to do something to help yourself instead. It should not have to be this way, but when help is short you've got to do self-defense stuff. You are going to have to try to orchestrate your own peace of mind to find a little bit more rest, even if it is only a wee bit of rest from stress.

That's all I can think of at the moment.†smile†C.

Thanks for encouraging words 5-1-18, Oh, and thanks Canuk, I forget about the salt water gargle, I'll use the Himalayan salt that ought to do it !
Thanks for the reminder, and yea I will try to take it easy you guys its hard when there really is only one cool room in the house, by late in the afternoon I have to move to that room and be subjected to either listening to the garbage tv or get in an argument about it.

SO, Starting week 3!!! This may go quicker than I thought!

Take it as slow and easy as you can Iris, stay home, lay low, conserve energy, try to be on the quiet side, even when all around you (everyone else and everything else) is trying to make it impossibe for you to do so, try to ignore the negatives surrounding you, and just try to self-nurture - remove yourself from the negatives surrounding you as much as you can, a shower sounds good!, doing quiet art or interests in the home sounds good, sneaking out for a late night walk in the cooler air. Ice lollies, your fav TV show, whatever it might be that provides you just little bits of comfort. Look for and let the smallest positive things please and soothe you a bit, even if it is only for minutes at a time. In between the popsicles, try gargling with hot salt water (at least a few times per day) to see if that soothes your throat - that almost ALWAYS soothes my sore throat when i get one. Good ole water is such a wonderful cure for so many things! About a 1/2 teaspoon of salt in a glass of really quite hot water (keep salt, glass and spoon in bathroom) - use quite hot water and stir to dissolve salt, hot water, but not so hot as to burn your throat at all, just nice and hot, and enough salt that it tastes quite salty, gargle repeatedly with renewed mouthfuls of the the hot salt water, for at least a few minutes per overall session. I find right after I have finsished gargling with hot salt water, i often have less throat pain almost immediately, and if it is bacteria that is the culprit behind a sore throat over the course of a day with repeated garglings it helps very much in keeping the bacterial colony counts down and from growing, thus perhaps helping to cure a sore throat better/sooner.† When you have finished gargling, leave the hot salt water residue in your throat, ie. do not rinse your throat with plain water to remove the salty tast for example, and do not immediately eats sweets and bathe your throat in sugar again for a while. Give the hot salt water bath you just gave your throat a little time to do it's magic. You can wipe your tongue wit plain water if you find the salt water gargle residue in your mouth too salty. Leaving our throat bathed in sugar, may not help one iota, especially if we are fighting some kind of sore throat - both my partner and I have had experience with that one, and we don't always like to do hot water/salt gargles, but we are almost always helped when we do!

Hoping for some better easier days ahead for you Iris. They will come! C.

So today I'm pretty worn out. Have been a little dizzy (-er than normal) and that neck/throat thing is still bugging me, and I have a pretty consistent headache, some minor hallucinations and a few major Oooops, like I forgot which was the hot or cold in the shower. Last night had the toidy trots but I probably ate something that didn't agree. The Dr. called yesterday to see if I was having any sides and I told her all that was going on. She said I might feel pretty crummy for a few weeks.

HEY JILL!!!! So glad to see you, thanks for swinging by. You guys... this woman was one of the best support people when I first landed here so long ago. and I would like to thank her publicly... You're a sweetheart Jill biggrin Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!

Not that the rest of ya'll aren't great, you are! and I thank everyone's input because this feels like a very lonely journey in my house.

The battle with the ants invading my home is reminding me of the battle that must be waging inside my body. I feel weird waves of tingles in different areas that almost feel like sweeps and then it's clear or relieved. I'm a terribly sensitive person physically (and empathetically) so I hope the course will let up with the funny feelings in a few weeks as the Dr. said. I'm appeasing the energies of Water to be more open and available to me...to call me forward and make me drink!

I've started on the picture of the beanstalk, will post soon, I hope!

BB, Iris

Iris,

You absolutely should stay on top of things and be an active part of this forum! I routinely warn folks to stay away from the scary information out there. I canít tell you how many times people have read the wrong things and avoided treatment. If you ever see something on this forum that concerns you, please let me know and Iíll personally look at it. These new protocols are easier than anything from the past. There are some complaints with every treatment, but these are absolutely manageable! Weíre here to help and guide you through any rough spots or questions.

The initial feelings you might experience at first typically resolve in the first two or three weeks. Youíre taking some powerful ďmagic beansĒ and they will let you climb that beanstalk with ever increasing confidence! I promise...†wink

iris, when i was taking my magic beans i enjoyed reading all the success stories

but it did help me to read when someone had this or that and then they turned out to be ok.

i had some weird days on the beans, but it never got too bad and i could always manage.

i was a little scared to think the bad feeling was here and i was sad that it was happening but i managed that all anyway.

it's def a strong treatment and we are lucky to be getting the cure

Tig, the stuff I was reading was here on this forum, perhaps I should stay away.† So far Im feeling mostly ok, weird waves of Ucky hit met several times in a day. I found I'm going to need like 9 of those chalices full to make a gallon, my bladder and kidneys don't know what the heck is going on. The Mr. will be useless, it's taken me some time (years) to come to terms with that. Hoping these beans will help me find new courage as well. Are symptoms cumulative?,or can I expext the way I have felt to be the course of it.

I did have a couple real super bonehead how could I forget that kind of events, eee.

Thank you all so much for your input, your support is precious to me.

Iris

yea, i agree, let the mr know that this is like chemo , he might understand that better.

when you have a bit of energy, gather together anything he might need for a day or 2 and put it on the counter or table [including the keys]. and let him know you just can't be there for everyone like you used to until you can.

my mr took the harvoni and was a big baby [he over did it everyday doing yardwork and cried every nite]. but he did drink the water.

i worked most of my treatment and rested a lot and took care of myself and let him know that i had the harvoni flu when he pestered me too much. [yea, and he knows how it goes on the harvoni].

i guess cos we look fine we look available....

anyway, hang in there and drink the water, and for sure, hang up the hard work outs for now.

Hey Iris,

Yes the fatigue and fog with both diminish..eventually (and its awesome not to wake up exhausted)biggrin ...But for now dont worry about anything except for taking your meds and taking care of yourself.

Its always difficult for super-mom type people to delegate but it is actually worthwhile for you to try doing that during your treatment when you have family or friends over for dinners etc... as for your Mr....I agree with Tig..sit him down and tell him..the next 3 months are all about you and your healing..and he better do everything in his power to support you...

†Gentle walks for a while...major hikes next summer, ok?†

Hi Iris,

Do yourself a favor, quit googling or reading up on all the ďwhat ifísĒ right now. It doesnít help anything and 90% of it is bogus, unless itís coming from a legitimate source. Thereís so much bad information out there. Upsets me when I see how much information being shared isnít true.†

The first few weeks can be daunting on any of these treatments. Do your best to relax, stay home when you can and take care of yourself. Donít let the stress overwhelm you and that begins too easy when you allow it. Eat well, hydrate like nobodyís business and rest. Take a pass on all the exercise, this isnít the time for it. Take it up after youíre done. Itís okay to stay active and by active, I mean walking. You had a hard time getting to this point, do your best to finish with flying colors, not worn out! Sit Mr. &#@* down and explain your expectations! He has to realize what it took you to get to this point. That shouldnít be too much to ask of him, right? I sure hope not! †-jmho-

Try slacking off the water a couple of hours before bedtime and you might be able to cut down on one or two trips to pee at night. As long as youíre getting your intake in over 24 hours, you should be good.

Get a suction cup and put his keys on the bathroom mirror...†wink

hi iris , these are strong medicine to cure our virus so there will be some side effects that go along with it.

brain fog and fatigue seem like the main ones. the brain fog comes and goes, the tiredness might be here for the duration and beyond for awhile.Plus your immune system is already working hard to help the magic beans get the job done.

i still don't have stamina like i did but there are 2 things going on. 1. my immune system is prob in overdrive right now repairing damage and making sure the virus stays stopped.

2. recovering from the harvoni takes a little time too.

it's all worth it becos the virus will do worse to us

rest when ever you can to help your body heal itself.

hang in there, it will be over before you know it and you will thank yourself for taking this one day at a time.

Thank you two, I'm sure I shouldn't "feel" much in one day but I felt like Lead weight yesterday. Could be because my daughter and I went on an epic hike on Friday to celebrate her birthday. She was pretty sore too, but she was like dancing up the hill and I was huffing and puffing. We got to a lovely vista that on a clear day we can see all of Los Angeles down to Palos Verdes. Sunday she came over for bbq with the beau and my bro came too. I ended up doing all the work... mr. &%$#@!† was of no help.

I hope I will have a smooth time of this, was just reading some after-treatment posts which so far are scaring the "bleep" out of me. I have terrible brain fog anyway and some of the other stuff, Yikes! I wanted to type something and already forgot, Oh yea...the water thing. I peed 4 times last night.hmm Maybe that is what causes the sleeplessness? LoL † and still not sure if I drank a gallon. 5 Perrier cans at the bbq and 4 full chalices in the day and one more after dinner.

Still super tired Mr. *&^%$ lost his car keys this a.m. and woke me to use mine, had to get out to a breast ultrasound anyway. But I have always woke up exhausted. Will that go away after treatment? Sure would be nice to wake refreshed..

Hooray Iris, welcome to the magic bean club. I so love your wonderful black magic bean chalice. Number one is now already doing battle with those nasty bugs that have been running rampant for way to long. Probably a fitting time for me to fill you in on my original analogy† "Bug Bomb" I initially saw my pill as my huge bug bomb. AS we all know if we have ever been plagued by fleas or some other crawling pests that it takes a lot of these big nasty bug bombs to get rid of the plague.† They can be a little hard to tolerate. If you happen to breath some of it in you may not feel too good for a while. I found it similar when I had to take this huge pill and I may feel a little off at times, but knowing in my heart that I must bear with it as when the air clears this plague will be over.

Over time I began to accept the magic really would be mine and they then became my lifesavers, my magic beans. Feel the magic!

All the best on your journey. Will be sure to follow your Harvani Beans thread.

welcome to the wellness club iris.

that was seethelight who gifted us with that delightful name of 'magic beans'biggrin

i love your magic bean chalice and your poem too...

i think most us had that worry and wonder until the first pill, then the magic takes over.

i always set my pill long way before i washed it down rather than sideways.

yay for you today and all the days to come....

Who ever coined the magic bean thing, Thank You! I'm loving that imagery! Got me some magic beans gonna grow me a new liver!

Past the teeth and over the tongue look out stomach here it comes! (I guess that should read liver!) Wow!... that pill was a very large bugger, for a second it didn't want to go down.

So today is the day... July 1st for 12 weeks. I've had some apprehension about it, the what if's did plague me but I'm trying to put those out of my mind.

I bought me a special chalice to consume the daily bean a very lovely black glass one with a super large filling capacity. I liked the black color, I have it with the idea that this virus will slip in to blackness...into the dark, and be invisible like one is when void of light. To top it off, a sweet deal at the good-will for only 2 dollars!† Let the battle commence!!!

Blessings, Iris
