Hi Steve! good to see you, smile

the teeth thing has always been a hard one for me. Good to hear you are getting it done, Sorry bout that assistant, how naive. Is another dentist an option?

I wanted to say,...I had a terrible experience with an extraction, guess too much toxins were released into my body, because I got real ill and had to get antibiotics and pain killers, yuck. just saying, ....and some folks get that pre-extraction antibiotics, I guess for heart problems?

I do wish you a speedy recovery, extractions are so invasive, Blessings, Iris

Well, dirty I suppose?

Sorry to hear that the dental assistant was visibly fearful, she needn't be, as long as she's properly adhering to Universal Precautions as is required.

Glad you went to the dentist. Do they have to wait to clean your teeth until your blood counts come up or did they clean them with the check up?

I haven't been for almost a year now.  I called and canceled my last appointment because I was on tx. and my gums were bleeding so easily.  I actually am looking forward to getting my teeth cleaned!  I was so upset when I got thrush because I was being so diligent about brushing my teeth!  My gums bleed easily when I floss, so I don't do it as often as I should.

Good luck with your next visit!  I hope those blood counts come up soon.

ride brfore you die.jpgI don't know if you are aware but TX can weaken & damage teeth, I was feeling brave and went for a check up today.

I filled in the health questionaire and spied them silently pointing at the area on the form where I had put my reply to Liver Disease down, they ask twice, once for Liver Disease in General and then specifically for HCV/HIV.

Then found out that my teeth had gone downhill, i need one extraction, one rebuild and one filling, hmmm?

They won't do the work until My Blood results turn out better and although they will treat me they will treat me as still infectious until SVR attained, thats not a problem commonsense really, the Dentist was fine, the assistant went a bit pale and wouldn't keep eye contact, needs education, made me feel a bit, how can I put it? Well, dirty I suppose?

Still, something to look forward to?

As soon as I have some Platelets and blood cells in general, I can have an extraction, does the fun never end?

Have Fun.

Steve
