Hi Tanya:  I swear by a rx called ONDANSETRON.  I too had non-stop nausea and this was the only thing that seriously worked although soda crackers and ginger ale (or a lightly carbonated beverage of your choice) can take the edge off until you can get some ONDANSETRON. The rx can only be taken every 8 hours so it won't be helping you 24/7 but it should make this sx tolerable.

Sugar free hard candies help with the bad taste in mouth.

These sx are common for the tx drugs, so the sleeping pill is probably not the culprit.

I haven't heard of not being able to smell, but I'm sure it is all connected and more of a discomfort than a danger, but as always, check with your doc if anything seems really off.

Hi Tanya,

I find the more dehydrated I am, the more nauseated I become.  I do find ginger, ginger tea, ginger beer, and slippery elm drops help, but mostly I try to stay hydrated.

For the metal mouth experience I have found green grapes are a wonderful fix and they add moisture.

God, some of these sides are soooo annoying---any other suggestions would be appriciated...How about the rash bumps?  Anybody found a great lotion other than hydacortizone ointment?  I've found the cream doesn't work, and no moisterizer can relieve this dryness.  Emu oil is helpful, but expensive.

This too shall pass....

Tanya Lee,
Not sure what AD is, but whenever I had nausea during my Pegasys/Riba/Incivek stage, I sipped ginger ale and nibbled soda crackers, just like I did as a child when Mom was caring for my various stomach ailments. You might give it a try. Altered taste and smell is a listed side effect of this stuff although not everyone gets it. The only weird taste I noticed was that whole milk tasted like it had been in the smoker. It had that smoked turkey taste. Weird.....

Alan

Make sure you are eating (even if you don't want to eat) with your pills. That made all the difference in the world for me. And drinks LOTS of water throughout each day. Best wishes, hope you feel better soon!
