I couldn't bear ANY sun on my body
Or sun light in my eyes on triple tx w/Invicek.
I live in the South of the USA.
The sun is not bothering me anymore.
I am post tx 9-10 weeks. Still having to adjust
To heat as I FROZE while I was on treatment.

any ideas do we have to avoid sun up to 6 months EOT (Riba leftovers)? When do we get back to normal exposure to sun?

cheers

I am in Hawaii too right now and just wear alot of sunscreen and stay out of the sun in the peak hours.  I got a rash from it once in December on my leg but didn't know my leg was exposed to sunlight and didn't have sunscreen on (I was riding on a ferry).  Now I put it on every day.  I haven't had a problem other than sometimes where I give myself injections get red....but not irritated or itchy then the redness subsides after a while.

aloha,

Meghan

I can't avoid the sun. I live in Hawai'i and I work outside. I don't seem to be having any problems with it, though. My skin actually seems clearer and looks better than ever, since starting tx. It's REALLY weird. I'm not sure what to make of it. At a recent party one of my friends' husbands asked her if I was pregnant because he thought I looked like I had a "glow." LOL!!! Which is really funny to me...IF THEY ONLY KNEW!

I never use those abbreviations but this response from you deserves it.

I sat here laughing my ass of of.  Somehow I had a very clear picture of that activity pictureing, I do the same thing.  I'm lucky I found my way to the computer.  Thanks for sharing your humor; it's seems somedays that's all you have to get through; am I right?

I can tell there could be a sunlight issue with these meds just from how sensitive my eyes have become to the sunlight. It's painful. I have to wear sunglasses whenever I venture out... (although that's not very often. I spend most of my time in bed or eating 20g of fat!LOL!)

At my support group last night, we had reps from the drug company that makes Ribavirin. They made it very clear to cover up completely if you're spending any time in the sun.

I was reading about drugs that are sensitive to sunlight and the article had a special warning about ribavirin. Apparently it makes you really sensitive to UV. WHen I was on TX I would get sunburnt in a few minutes walking from my car to the store and back. It will make the rash break out too. Best to stay away.

Stay out of the sun or wear high factor sunscreen because the drugs make you very sensative to the sun.  I went to spain after just finishing tx and 2 seconds in the sun I went red and itchy so be very careful x

Doing just fine, really. The doctor got my red cells back to normal, the thyroid seems to be back down to normal, just pegasys and riba for meds, so I started back to the gym a week or two ago. Just a light workout, half cardio and half strength. Have an appointment tomorrow to review my 16-week labs, and discuss my reduced riba doseage, and to discuss the gym stuff. They seem OK with it, but they haven't had time to lay down all the rules.

Keep it up, partner. You sound like you're doing good.

Alan

I was told not to do it, but that was while I was on Incivek also. The drug company that makes Pegasys says avoid exposure and wear SPF 15 when outdoors. As to why, I have no idea. But a lot of drugs are not happy about sun exposure. You going to the beach?

How you feeling these days? I always see your picture and think "Look at that happy son of a gun". Then it occurs to me you probably didn't take the picture on a bad day during treatment. Just wondering if you're OK.
