 Hello Cathy,

I know almost nothing about anti depressive drugs, and the only thing I know about anti-anxiety drugs is from recently being prescribed Xanax, which helped me tremendously.     Your Dr. that prescribed the Prozac needs to evaluate the situation, and monitor any adjustments in your medications.    I wish you the best and hope that you find relief very soon.

Really wish I could tell you what worked for me, but it would just be BS. I lived in the problem for the duration of tx. I had some anxiety and plenty of rage, but it became very focused on tx - doctor, insurance, pharmacy, blood lab. My usual practices became very minimal, but not entirely gone. Just barely enough! I relied heavily on fellowship - this forum, my other fellowship, and my guide, who told me I was a mess, and he was right. This forum has a primary purpose and it fit well. Just amazing how I could check in (obsessively, imagine that) and find others dealing with the same stuff and maybe a solution or two. And then I got some time and was able to start giving back. You know the deal.

Hi Joanneh, I began antidepressants for anxiety and insomnia but I feel like they are making me depressed lol. I also get headaches and weird feeling in my forehead. I was on lexapro previous treatment, maybe I should tell my doc to switch, i feel like his one is too strong.

Hi guys. Started week 5 last Monday and started Victrellis. I go in tomorrow to check labs. Before I started tx, I read a lot and began Lexapro 20mg. Also mega Vitamin D. Calcium. And a multi vitamin. I had felt so exhausted before this that I actually feel pretty normal. Ni arranged to take leave from work which I'm glad I did. I take an Ambian before bed (because I can't risk the crazy I get without sleep) and I dont sleep well anyway. I'm trying to ignore my hair thinning as I love all aspects of denial. I battle feeling lazy when I'm actually just tired. I have some of the rash now on my elbows and am trying to drink obsurd amounts of water. Along with this forum, I feel better than i had expected at this point. Thanks for all being here!

Steff, I start triple tx Friday And doctor put me on AD to Help w side effects. I Am taking lexapro 10 mg. doc suggested 20mg but I Am nervous About taking it. What's opinion of lexapro? I Don't Want to be crazy RIBA rage again this time Joanneh

Margo, The RIBA hyped me up up Up! I ended up Falling out getting Weird exhausted. Had to get on antidepressant And seroquel to help sleep a very low dose. This was first Time on tx. I start triple this Friday w Invicek. Doctor suggested seroquel low dose as it is non Addicting and I have been sober since 1986. Yet I still take the seroquel same low dose 11 years later:)! But I have never slept well and it helps so I have grown To accept it. I even cut the 25 mg in half and it helps me sleep. When I was on tx I had Gotten up to 50mg. Just my experience:) and I am very glad to have seroquel This time starting At the beginning. Let me know how u r Doing, Joanneh

This is my second time threw, on 3rd shot ,one thing that I have noticed is walk a lot and sleeping pills,
Rest really helps.

Stage 4 ,geno 3. Second try at peg reb, had hep about 30 years I believe it came from a hep b shot . Third shot Saturday ,for me Pegasys is easier than peg intron .

my doctors put me on citalopram 2 weeks before i started treatment. i was very wary coz ive had addiction issues and basically was pretty anti goin on anti depressants. but they told me that treatment actually 'depletes the seratonin in our brains' that made me realize its not actually mental or emotional, its a real chemical change in our brains....

ive had moments wantin to come off them, and my friends say, ''can you imagine the train wreck you would be without them?"" and they are right....

dont know really what they do, cept it could be worse...

hang in there mate. it gets easier as we just learn to deal with it, and ride it thru....

Yes--it is definetly normal to feel anxiety and hyper. I remember the early days--sometimes all I could do was cry and then other day I was running everybody over. I think it is Ribavirin rage. Hang in there--AD's are probably a good idea!

I can second what Steff said.  The AD's can smooth the ride a bit, especially in the later stages of tx.  I waited too long before I went on them and I wished I had been a bit more proactive in that area.  Take care, tysmile

Hi Margo,

It's a very common reaction to treatment and many people find AD's to be very helpful at this time. I've been told from a very good source that Citalopram (aka Celexa, Cipramil) is a good choice and it starts to work very quickly, unlike some of the others.

Have a chat with your doctor/medical team and tell them how you're feeling. Many people here have reported feeling much more able to cope with the ups and downs by using AD's.

This is my second week on the triple therapy and I've noticed that I became anxious about everything. I know interferon can cause depression and such but I just feel so energized,which is good but anxious as well. I am thinking to go on antidepressants such as Symbalta, to relieve all the worries about nothing:) Any suggestions are more then welcome!
