I believe it's part of their standard follow-up as part of their customer service procedures.  The rep isn't necessarily familiar with my meds.  This step in the Q.C. procedure is just to identify any issues that might put the patient at risk and then escalate it to the proper department a necessary.  I'm actually very happy with their customer service, nurse hotline and pharmacist accessability.

Carl- you recognized it as well.  It is Accredo/Medco.  I have them through United Healthcare.  I'm sure they're contracted with a lot of insurance plans

Absolutely!

As if anyone taking this poison could get away without side affects!  I agree that it's hysterical when the clueless people ask those questions and you, (I) am first of all stunned, they're supposed to be professionals, and how difficult would it be to refrase that question?  I sometimes feel like people think that if they put a positive twist on the question or say it with a sugary sweet tone, the response will be positive...I go through this every time I see my Dr.s assistant.  It's like, if I'm honest about the side effects, I'm ungrateful that I'm doing so well in terms of my SVR.  Same now that I am over the horrors of Incivek sides, I feel better, but when anyone who knows what I went through asks how I'm doing and I mention not being out of the woods yet, it's as if that's the wrong answer.  We are such a denial dwelling society here in the states, what's so wrong with living in the truth???

Very funny!  I have Medco Acredo Pharmacy as part of my Previous Condition Insurance Plan ("Obamacare").  Basically same drill with them.  I realized just how long I have been on treatment this week when I walked into the lab test place (Quest) and they greeted by name.

I don't mean to sound arrogant, like we know it all, or anything like that, but isn't it a hoot dealing with clueless people when it comes to treatment? If they only knew! Side effects, schmide effects. These aren't side effects, they're a way of life. You put them on like clothes. Now if I can just figure out how to take them off.

My big mail order pharmacy always checks on my condition when scheduling my next shipment.  Great support but it can be amusing sometimes.

Pharmacy- Have you had any side effects from your medications?

Me- Why yes, all of them. biggrin

Pharmacy- Brief pause- Umm, would you like us to connect you to the manufacturer to report an adverse event?

Me- No thanks, I'm pretty sure they're already aware. biggrin
