Hey Mallani & Kiwi, Bloody cold sitting in front of the fire, watching garbage( well I don't actually don't watch, The box is just on. I look but don't see and hear but can't listen- too hard)

Kiwi- I am on the Murray and struggle to function under 20 deg, never seen snow so yep I'm a total wuss when it comes to cold. However before tx I enjoyed sitting outside in the cold, a fire raging and a few stubbies listening to the footy and some tunes. It was our winter weekend routine- usually wack a spit on and watch it cook. Now I feel I have abandoned my husband coz I leave him outside alone.

Although I've got nothin in the tank, with kids life still goes on. Last week a wedding, this week took the 5 hr drv to Melbourne to see Annie the musical . It was my bday so we saw the show and had dinner, it was nice but I still felt like a party pooper. It was back to the room and in bed by 7.30pm, sorry family mummy's tired and grumpycry. Three weeks time we're off to Darwin for a week, once again it will be nice but i just feel my ability embrace experiences is overshadowed by this tx. Anyway she'll be right mate-i'm grateful for everything.

Hi Kristy and Kiwi, It is freezing her in Brisbane. Being anaemic doen't help, but I have never been so cold in Queensland. Sitting in front of heaters, watching garbage on TV, what a life! I'm at week13,  finish in Feb 2013.  Roll on summer.

Kristy--I started my tx in the winter and it was great to hunker down and hibernate! It is kind of tortureous now--because it has been a beautiful spring and I am mostly to worn out for all my usual activities--gardening, biking and just being outside. Try to get out at least one day a week! Oh well--always next year!!

I do have to say, no matter how tired and unmotivated I am, it's still way better than the Incivek days.  Incivek was always that way...plus brain fog to top it off.  Without the Incivek it's sometimes tough but sometimes normalish.  Today was normalish and I finally did my taxes I've been procrastinating for a few months.  I knew in April that I was at my limits just to file the extension form.  Incivek definitely made me dumber.  I had to write down math I normally do in my head and spreadheets were definitley a bit more confusing.  So today's message of hope for you Incivek users is that it gets better soon!

All the Best,  Dave

I find I like to veg in the evenings, but have been keeping myself busy during the day and I swear it makes me feel better.  I have always been the kind of person who has trouble sitting still, but when things got rough and earlier on in treatment when I just felt lousy, the couch was my best friend and my teenagers knew exactly where not to sit because it was my spot!

I think it's great to relax on the weekend, especially if you are working all week. I do find I feel worse if I stayed sedintary too often during the week.  Naps help, 20 to 45 minutes, sometimes twice a day if you can fit them in.

Stay comfortable,

Kate

I have a confession--yesterday was a higher energy day--but I am a teacher who is off work for the summer--so I had all week to rest up and have a somewhat "productive" Saturday. Today I have a date with the couch and Netflix.

I have sworn an oath to never watching another episode of Law & Order again!

Heavens no it is not just you! I've spent more weekends than not in my big chair (I know everything there is to know about going through the worm hole with Morgan freeman, and ancient aliens, discovered the big bang theory and am obsessed with Brit tv on you tube) I do feel better now and like Shep I've got more energy -guess my body is getting used to the stuff- But I know I will have a headache for a few days when I over do like today. I say go with it. Just do what you need to do. Like Alan I do think work kept me going. Hang in there my experience is it will get a better .

As I read the post, I realized that I too became totaly uninterested in things I like. I just want to be left alone, read or watch some TV. I guess it's not only you...

I, too am
Encouraged to do 48 weeks. I am starting week 3!
Wiped out day after shot. I call it chilling time
Today has been rough as I gave my injection a day early
As wanted to change days and shot has really
Wiped me out, even pain on liver area. Not too bad though,
Just enough to get my attention several times. Drinking lots of water
And resting....
Sometimes I find having a reason to make me
Get up and go helps me get motivated like Alan mentioned. Today no way to push they
Tomorrow should be better. Yes, SS lack of
Energy. Who wants to play
Words
W friends? Ha
Joanne

Well all this talk about energy levels or the lack thereof got me feeling a bit guilty. Got out today--went to Farmer's Market bought a gallon of blueberries, went to Target--bought t-shirts (because I am such a fashionista) and then after a brief rest went out to our community garden. Dug in the dirt, planted stuff, did a little weeding and after about an hour & half-came home & collapsed. It was a brief energy spurt and there is no danger of it happening again too soon.

Did feel good to get out around "normal" people--and the weather is spectacular!!

If it weren't for my job I would never have left the house during early treatment. Felt too bad. But something about heading out to work made me feel motivated enough to actually do it. A creature of habit, I guess. All I can say is later in treatment it seems I'm either used to it, or it's fading, because there is a little more energy now. Enough that my grandson and I head out Friday to Chestertown, MD for a charity bike tour that lasts two full days. We'll see how that turns out. Alan

Not me, I'm motivated!  I think I'm going to get my butt off this couch and get me a little exercise.  Trip to kitchen, fill bowl with ice cream, return to couch.  Whew, that's enough for now.

Not just weekends, but every day of the week.  hmm

Weekends are no different. I just watch more TV, play computer games, and encourage my wife to go out. Thank God for cable TV and a box. Only at week 12 on triple Rx with Victrelis. Undet. at 8 weeks. Cirrhotic, so on the stuff for 48 weeks! Tried to hit some golf balls on Friday. Tried one swing and almost fell over from dizziness and nausea. Hb is 10 so unlikely to get any reduction in Riba out of my doc. I'm retired, waching my Super Fund disappear, so there's not a lot of joy. Trying hard to stay focused on the goal!!cry

Geno 1b, 69 yo cirrhotic, vl 1.28m at start.
