I would try it. Activity is good. Your body will tell you right away if its too much. Just listen to it. Frankly, mine would have told me NO after the first day past the first month of tx. I would worry more about the heat.

I would try the softball if I were you....when you are out on the field you  mostly stand in one place, a little running.  When you are waiting for your turn at bat you will be sitting in the dugout.  Give it a shot and see how you feel :)  I felt a little better after being off of incivek.  I had major brain fog before and could feel my body fighting the effects of the medication.  The interferon and ribavirin was no walk in the park but it was a little easier.

aloha,

Meghan

Thanks for sharing your labs.  It has been very helpful to me to know that the abnormal labs do level out at some point in time.  I am having fits with my thyroid however.  I just saw an Endocrinologist this week who is monitoring me now and raising my Synthroid as needed.  I am at week six but had to skip 2 of the Pegasys injsections during that time due to my elevated TSH levels.  Now waiting for my viral load test results to come back.  Your experiences have been very helpful in this long, exhausting journey, but hopefully there is light at the end of this tunnel.

I got a lot of energy back after incivek, but it's all relative. I'm still tired all the time, but for me the problem with physical activity is the anemia. I can't make it up a flight of stairs without my knees killing me and I'm short of breath. But I can make it through a day. No way I could play softball. I'm 50.

That was by far my favorite position for quite a few months.

Softball might be a bit of a stretch, but you have to try it. I was snowboarding three times during Incivek and once more a week after finishing Incivek. I had to take a brief rest after every run, but by golly I was on the mountain. Maybe they'll put you at a position where you don't have to run arund a lot.

My energy level improved slightly after the incivek was done. I'm at 23 weeks 6 days and while my energy has come back to a degree I'm not planning on doing to much for a couple more weeks or 4.

I am done with incivik in October. I play softball in a over 50 league. I was just wondering if I should take this year off.

Maybe a little. But in my experience the main culprit for low energy was the ribavirin and low hemoglobin, or hematocrit, whichever you keep track of. It will come and go but mostly you just get used to being worn out most of the time. Alan
