Really pleased you`re turning the corner with your post tx recovery now Kate, sounds like you`re really getting your zest for life back.  I think going through tx and coming out the other side can really change the way you view your life.  Good luck with the surgery next week, I`m sure you`ll be glad to get that over with and move forward.  thumbsup.gif

All the best to you, Jill xx

ps - I`m moving this to "Post Treatment" for you.  smile

Good to hear! For me, post treatment was an up and down experience. Some days I still felt like crap so take things easy. Give your body time to recover and restore itself.

Finished 24 week Insivek treatment 4 weeks ago and i can finally say I am starting to feel better! No more fever, (was spiking every night post treatment for 3 weeks). Brain fog is a little better, I am tired but I definately have more energy, and most importantly I want to be among the living! I want to be with my friends, go out to shows, ( saw Kasey Chambers Sunday night with my daughter and she was amazing!) And I want to move! My body is not ready for heavy exercise, but I want to get back muscle that atrophied on treatment! It does get better thank goodness! I am still dealing with residual conditions like anal fissures, which will be surgically addressed with Botox next week. Wish she could do my upper lip before injecting my ass, but I'll keep my wrinkles in exchange for pain-free bowel movements without hesitation! Hairloss and scalp Folliculitis continue to be an issue that I am told will improve, but hot weather exacerbates my scalp itch and makes it harder not to scratch.. I never thought I'd look forward to Fall, but I really am this year! I also find I have a new lease on life and don't want to hold back at all. If I want to wear cowboy boots in the summer, I wear cowboy boots without self-consciousness. I don't want to groan when people say I look great anymore because I no longer feel like sh!t and think they are just trying to make me feel better or actually saying, "you look fine, it can't be all that bad!" which is how I felt on treatment a lot, because post-Insivek it was easier to hide the treatment look, but I still felt like nine miles of bad road! Happy to be Hep C free and living again! XO, Kate

So great to hear Kate. It sounds like you had it worse than many. What you say about more energy and wanting to be among the living is exactly how I'm feeling 4 weeks post treatment. I feel like the cage doors have been opened. I still am itchy but the heaviness of treatment has lifted. All my clothes are loose too! First post treatment blood test is Friday. For some reason they are testing me every month.

BTW I love your new profile pic.

That's wonderful Kate! The most important you beat the virus, everything else will come slowly. I'm glad to hear you are doing well!

Good to hear, Kate. I am two weeks out, and have not been impressed with the recovery rate. Surely it is better, but I wanted superhuman in one week. Didn't happen. Just have to learn to be patient. But it would probably be easier for me to come up with a theory for world peace. Patience is not my strong suit.
