DJ, you want to get the Mythylcobalamin B12. I've read that is the one with the most absorbency. I like Jarrow and I take 1000 mcg a day.

The D3, I've read, anywhere from 2000 to 4000 IU a day. I take 4000.

I am not a dr. or a healthcare practitioner. Information is what I've gathered in my research over the years.

I hope this is helpful.

I like the Jarrow B-12 as well, been taking it since before start of tx for other issues.

Thanks!  I have seen how helpful supplements can be, so I do think there can be a lot of benefits to taking the right ones.  Thanks so much for the information.

Thanks for this insight and the article. I've placed an order online for the Jarrow 5000 mg of B12. I really like the dosage is taken  every 3 to 4 days. That's just one less pill to remember to take. But, I'm willing to try anything that will increase my chances of a cure with little sx.

I currently take a vitamin D supplement. But, what is D3?

BTW, does the B12 and D3 help reduce the sx?

First shot scheduled for tomorrow.

Ann.

Can you guys tell me the amounts of the Vit D and the B12 you were taking on treatment?  I was looking at different bottles and they have various amounts in them.

Thanks!

I was glad to see that article, had been taking B-12 for a long while for my peripheral neuropathy even before treatment.

Good to know that B12 gives another boost to the immune system. I also read about D3 giving a boost to the interferon and take from day one of my tx.

Hiya Mark, good to see you around.  Great news about your ongoing UND.

I too supplemented with Vitamin D during Tx after reading about the study in Israel (I think) that showed very large increases in SVR with Vit. D supplementation.

I hadn't seen the Vit B12 study, but surely would have added that too. I wanted every possible advantage over this virus.

I did see another study that reported reduced TX side effects among those who drank a bit of coffee (not caffeine though).  I was glad to see that when I started Tx, since I love good coffee.  I did take care to drink even more liquid though, since the coffee is a mild diurectic.

Well, next stop SVR for both of us!

Take care,

Brad

Although requiring further investigation, a study has demonstrated Vitamin B12 as capable of boosting the success of Hepatitis C treatment.

By Nicole Cutler, L.Ac.

The recent addition of a third medication to the standard Hepatitis C drug ****tail has dramatically improved the cure rate, but there are still a significant number of people who don't respond to treatment. Especially for previous non-responders, strategies to boost the chances of a successful Hepatitis C treatment are in great demand. New research suggests that supplementing with Vitamin B12, an inexpensive, easily accessible vitamin, could be the Hepatitis C treatment accelerator that is urgently sought.

full articel here...   http://www.hepatitis-central.com/mt/archives/2012/08/vitamin_b12_dur.html?eml=hepcen166&utm_source=iContact&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Hepatitis%20Cenral&utm_content=HepCen166

I supplemented with both B12 and D3 before, during and after treatment. I was on reduced doses of both Riba (half) and Interferon (half and then down to a quarter) during most of treatment, and I remain UND at the end of treatment. So I thought it might be beneficial to share this information.
