Hi again, Im borderline for glaucoma and have catracts that are not visable to naked eye, ton of floaters. My mom had eye disease. I wonder if this will nix possibility of tx. I was told my eye pressure had improved. Personally Id rather be deaf than blind. This was not meant to be funny, as I cant deal with noise.  HERE'S HOPE   Michaele

Hi again Michaele, I also have borderline glaucoma, and have a family history of eye problems, but I didn`t have any trouble with my eyes while on tx.  Best to mention any worries you have to your doctor before you start tx though. smile

Glad doc didn't see anything g wrong w your eye sight
And u r seeing better.
I too wonder what side effects 48 weeks will do to us.
Oh well... I sure don't want a liver transplant!

Oh so now I have to go get an eye exam ?

But I seriously do need to go  My reading vision has been getting worse in the last few months I've been putting it off 

I don't have any pain  I  hope it's just the transition from cheap reader glasses to a real  prescription  we'll see

Hi Bob, Having had HCV for 40 years and having progressed to cirrhosis, I am very aware of what the virus can do. In my case, being older, quality of life is very important. Many patients have ended Rx with new health problems, whether or not they achieved SVR. While SVR is the goal, I remain concerned about how my health will be after 48 weeks of these poisons.

Can't be as bad as what the Hcv doing to it.

Saw my Opthalmologist at 7pm. Normal optic nerves, normal fundi and normal visual fields. Said to keep aware of it and to come back if worried. Given some moisturising drops- the drugs dry up the lacrimal secretions. After taking a panadeine , didn't have any pain last night. I'm getting worried about what else these drugs are going to do to my body. Cheers all.

Here's lookin at you kid...

I had to break down 2 years ago, had to let go of my drug store readers.. I was in denial.. I found out I was near sighted and far sighted...  and it really sorta happened like that...I had to go with the progressive bifocals... I let 2 years pass by..went this spring my eyes had changed more, so not sure if that had to due with age or . my Hep C progressingI have dry eyes already tired to do contacts now that was funny thing to watch... can't seem to master that one..

Yes, please do.      The Interferon is an evil, toxic concoction that creates autoimmune problems in the body; no telling where it will do it's damage.  cry

I had vision problems few times in left eye and dizziness. But not any more.

Malcolm,

I'd urge you to have that investigated right away.      I never had any eye pain at all, but have experienced a Pegasys induced, auto-immune related swelling of the [right] optic nerve. 

My treatment has been halted over 3 weeks now, and although the Pegasys is probably completely gone from my body, I'm still left with the visual impairment that the swelling casues.

Has anyone else had eye pain during Rx. ?. Pretty weird, only on lying down, and severe enough to make eyes water. Pain is directly behind eye globe. Rapidly disappears after standing up. Vision may be a bit blurry but that is probably due to eyes watering. Has woken me up from sleep 2 nights in a row, so I sit up for 1-2 hours, then go back to bed. Doesn't sound like a neuropathy but will get it checked if it continues.
