lol Oh I see. Family is definitely important. I don't think I could do this without my family.

Ig, I set it up that I don't have to sign for it. And yes, in all honesty they did tell me when it might arrive. We had an out of town family emergency the day before and ended up hopping in the truck and driving most of the night. It just didn't pop-up in my brain until I got home the following Sunday night. Seems like more and more I'm finding stuff just disappearing from my brain. So, the brain fog is rolling in (LOL)

The good news is that I think being with my stepson was helpful to him. Family support can't be under-estimated. I just wish I could have been more then 50% there.  Seems like Im doing my Lost in Space imitation more and more.

Why did they leave it there??? They always make me sign for the package. Did you know it was coming that day? I was always told exactly what day the meds would arrive. Actually, they would ask me what day I preferred.

As far as the interferon goes, my guess would be that it's not ok for it to sit outside that long, but I don't know for sure. Definitely contact the pharmaceutical company right away.

Thanks for the responses. I called Walgreens Specialty Pharmacy and they said while not recommend; that the manufactures guidelines indicate that it would remain stable for up to six days. Given recent Minnesota temperatures they said it would still be OK to use. I wonder why the discrepancy between the 24 hour recommendation and Six day guidelines?

Vern,   this looks like the skinny:

How should I store PEGASYS prefilled syringes?

PEGASYS must be stored in the refrigerator at a temperature of 2° C to 8° C (36° F to 46° F). Do not leave PEGASYS out of the refrigerator for more than 24 hours. Do not freeze or shake. Protect from light. Prefilled syringes are for single use only. Discard any unused portion remaining in the prefilled syringe.

-from the following page:  http://www.pegasys.com/patient/for-patients/expect/how/prefilled-syringe/index.html

Like Malcom, I'd be curious to see what the pharmacy recommends.

Not sure, Vern. I wouldn't use it unless you were really short. Be interesting to see what the Pharmacy says.

I get my Pegasys delivered in a Styrofoam cooler which contains some frozen ice packs to keep it cool. Normally when I get it, I refrigerate it right away.

However we had to make an unexpected out of town trip last Thursday 9/28. The shipment came of Friday 9/28 and sat unopened on my porch until Sunday 9/30.  When I did open it, the ice packs were melted but slightly cool. The air temperature up here has been warm (70 F) during the daytime, but cooler (50 F) at night.

Has anyone else experienced this? I plan to contact the Pharmacy tomorrow.
