Well my husband has offered to stay at the resort with me while the kids go to the parks.  I guess I will just make the plans with the understanding that if 31 days before I don't feel up to it, we will cancel.  And if things continue as they have, I may not even be on treatment by then.  I am hoping my new doctor is more 'pro' treatment than my old one though.

Genotype 3.  Treatment started on 1/11/2013 with Ribavirin and Pegatron.  Week 4 UND.  Week 12 UND.  Ended treatment on 6/28/2013.  Six months post treatment 12/04/2013 SVR.

I say do whatever you can  I did go away  twice last year 2011 an  Island   and Las Vegas   I figure feel like crap nere or there  It forces you to get up and join the living

You may do very good on tratment  I rather cancel than plan on not going  see how it goes

first time i was on treatment i used to travel for work, 40+ weeks a year.  i had no trouble at all.  disney is the happiest place on earth, so i say pack your $h!t and have a great time!

geno 1a started peg interferon/ribavirin/incivek 12.07.12.  vl 7.5 copies (32 million) at start. 2.4 (251) as of 01.07.12 vl went up to 5.5 as of 03.05.13. treatment stopped.

Thanks! I guess we will just have to wait and see how things go. If I cancel at least 31 days before the trip I won't be out anything. I would really prefer to wait until I was done with treatment and had time to feel better. The problem is the college kids with their classes and jobs and other commitments. We found 1 week we could all go and if not that week it will have to wait until who knows when. If my treatment had started as planned it would have been fine.

My wife earned an incentive trip to Paris for seven days while I was on week 24 of peg/riba/vic. I was also taking Procrit and Neupogen for both low red and white blood counts. I had to carry refrigerated injectibles with me and take ribavirin every 8 hours--trickier than it sounds when you travel through seven time zones.

By this time in treatment I was quite weak and sick, with significant weight loss and nausea. I decided to go on the trip anyway, as it was a once-in-a lifetime opportunity. While I really enjoyed the experience of being in Paris, it became very difficult for me to keep up with the group of 10 we were traveling with. Sometimes I just stayed at the hotel and slept while everyone else dashed around Paris. By the time we finished the long trip home, I thought I was going to die. I've never felt worse in my life.

Your treatment will be different than mine, and the timing of your trip during treatment may be different also. If I had gone in the first 12-14 weeks of treatment, I'd have been all right. At the end of treatment--in my case--it was a bitch.

Nevertheless, my best memories of Paris are priceless and I wouldn't trade them for anything.

BTW, I'm now 2 months post treatment, virus-free, and feeling almost human again!

If you read my other post, you know I am switching doctors and starting all over again.  So I have no idea when I will be able to start treatment.  We had planned a vacation in August thinking by then I would be done, but now that doesn't seem like the case.

So has anyone gone on a trip during treatment?  Our family wants to go do Disney (my husband and two daughters and their two friends all in college). 

I will only be on the 2 meds for treatment since I have Geno Type 3 (if that makes any difference).  My husband and I thought we would get a nice room and just relax at the resort while the kids go off to the parks.  But is that realistic to think I might be able to do that while still on treatment?
