Hi Jeri,

Don't worry about the weight loss. At EOT the taste buds return to normal within a few weeks and I went back to my normal diet, and ate a bit extra to make up for the garbage I ate while on Rx. The muscle loss takes a bit longer and you need to work at it. The muscle cells are still there, they just need a bit of fattening up. Good luck.

6weeks left of tx, have lost 16lbs. Can tell that ive lost muscle too.

i love ice cream, but i removed it from my diet...heard liver doesn't likes iced stuff poured down to your stomach?

thanks for advices! i will bug my doc on Thu for some tips how to regain weight

I also gained weight on the Incevek. I have lost muscle do to in activity. General malaise. 

But I liked eating ice cream at 11pm.

its the least of your worries. I'm 24 wks Undetected. It works.

At the beginning of treatment i had no sx.  But by the second month nothing tasted the same.  I would prepare food and take a bite and not want it.  My husband gained the weight.  As he would finish the food.  I lose some weight and then gain it back.  Mainly because sugar seems to taste the best to me.  So if it taste good i eat it.  Fruit taste good.  And some veggies.  Smoothies with yogurt is usually what i take in.  I had my vitamins tested and i am still good on those.  I have added iron because of the anemia.  I have no muscle tone.  My skin looks like it is falling off.  I need to exercise but can't yet.

thanks Bill, will definetly talk with my doc on Thu about high calorie supplemental drinks like Ensure (damn thing is expensive, and i bet insurance won't cover it for me, but hey at least i got SoC tx for free)

Lost 35 lbs and just more than half way through, In Ontario Canada I am on Trillium drug plan and because of the treatment and medication I was given a perscription for two cans of ensure complet per day.

tho vaporising cannabis helps bring some appetite back, i am still loosing weight ;-( i lost 5kg prior to therapy, now i am another 5kg down in first 2.5months of therapy (i am loosing by this pace, 2kg per month)...i am 10kg less than my normal weight should be (75kg). Shall i go for high calorie drinks or just force myself to eat more somehow? maybe problem is that i am spending most of the time on therapy alone and my cooking is not that great.

i was told i look like Kate Moss other day ;-D not a compliment to say to a man, def!

I only lost about 10 lbs, but the body changed more than that. I bought a new pair of 29 jeans during tx, the only thing that fit. I tried to put them on the other day. Are you kidding, I fit into those? No wonder folks kept asking me if I was OK, and the honest ones told I looked like hell.

1999 was the first time I went from 240 down to 168lbs.  2005-2007 (72 weeks) 220-162, this time so far 15 weeks is 208-188. Just found out I'm undetectable today.

not sure about it in lbs, i have lost 5kg (from 76 to 71kg) prior to tx (low fat diet/no alc/no soda), in first 3 weeks of tx i lost additional 3kg. my normal weight should be 74kg, so i am getting really skinny, my gf is really worried.

 When I started treatment I weighed 135 and had very little fat.(a small dude) After 5 months of treatment weigh 125.

 Been off treatments due to complications for 3 weeks now. So i have been pigging out and working out a little, still cant gain a pound ..

I really wish I could have this side effect.  I am not enjoying the ones I have, but this one would have been nice.  Alas...I still like eating.  Just waiting for my husband to come home with take out from Olive Garden right now.  Not going to lose weight that way.  haha

i lost over 20lb... so far its stayin put and im glad, people tell me how good i am lookin. but it was obvious to all ive lost a fair bit, and if i have jeans on i have to wear a belt of they fall off my ass. lol.... but im happy with the weightloss. its a GOOD side effect. ;)

I was pretty small to begin with, but I lost about 13 pounds during the first month of treatment (I was 108lbs at the start). I was eating, but not consistently, and not very healthily. After that I've been eating pretty much how I did pre-treatment but I've only gained back a pound.  I have no idea, however, if I've lost fat or muscle or both.  My doc said most people lose some weight on treatment.

Gained about 15 then lost 30 afterwards. I started processing food much better after I was UND for 3 months until at about 5 months post. I went from 189 to 157 and holding there in good shape, not bad for winter and less activity.

Gained a solid 7lbs of fat. Lost who knows how much muscle.

In 11 months last year  I was on triple tx  ( Incivek ) for 8 weeks then 7977 for 24 weeks. Ribavirin both times.

I'm just starting to feel a little normal. Still weak but I'm working out almost every day. I didn't do that on tx.

I lost ten pounds of fat during the first two months as the nausea caused me to eat a lot less. After that the nausea passed and the anemia set in causing inactivity. I lost five pounds of muscle while regaining five pounds of fat. Net for treatment, ten pound loss, half fat, half muscle.

I just started 2 1/2 weeks ago and have had no problems with appetite. I won't be losing weight. I just finished off a chocolate milk shake and last night was out to eat (had my injection on Friday). I was actually looking forward to that side effect and it sounds like most people have it....but not me.

I went from 212 at the start of treatment to 197 at the very lowest (about week 30), but now I am up to 220 and really watching it closely. I am six months post treatment now, and getting chubby.

Can you please tell me if you lost weight on TX, if so how much. The reason I am asking is my Dr. said I would love 15%-25% of my total body weight but most of it would be muscle mass. I was wondering if this is accurate.

I have heard of several members on the forum
Say they have lost muscle mass on tx.
I haven't lost weight, I gained 10 lbs on
Invicek. I have discovered if I eat I feel better
And it controls any nausea. That's just me.
I have lost 6 of the pounds I gained since
I don't have to choke down 20 mg of fat.
Lack of exercise is why I am lossing muscle mass.
I can't exercise on tx.
