... start of severe side-effects - seeking advice / info

Thanks everyone, your support means a lot to me.

My specialist has ordered an emergency ultrasound for Friday. My regular blood work came back okay, so they're not sure what's going on.

No yellowing of eyes or skin. Bilirubin looks good.

I'm hoping this is only temporary, but I'm still running a low-grade fever (3 days now) 37.7 up from 37.2 and the uncomfortable back pain persists. I haven't gone to the bathroom anymore since yesterday but I'm praying that things go back to normal.

After doing some research, gallbladder stones (probably very small) seem like the best fit to symptoms. At least it's not my liver!
But if my fat isn't being absorbed, neither is telaprevir... eek

Thanks again for the support. 5 more months!

Fever, severe liver pain, pale stools = gallbladder disease. Don't stuff around- go see your doctor!

Have you noticed any yellowing of the whites of your eyes? The white stools and the right abdomen pain could be the start of symptoms of bilirubin blockage. You do need to see the MD as soon as your labs get back.

Hi HazeySask

The side affects can be really tough and differ between all of us. Sounds like your getting hit pretty hard I'm not a doctor so I can't comment on whats going on with you body inside. But please take the advice of your doctor. you may have something else going on that is treatable without stopping completely But you'll never know unless you go. Please don't don't try to be stand up guy to the point of hurting yourself  These drugs are no walk in the park. and you have to respect them and your own body. I say this with kindness and concern. I hope you can get through this safely

Tomorrow I start week 6 of triple therapy with telaprevir.

I've been running a temp of 37.5 up from 37.2 in the past 48 hours.

I was weak / short of breath and collapsed at work yesterday.

Today I had severe pain around my "liver area" that spiked if I twisted or turned my body. It's now an uncomfortable dull pain that is persisting.

I pretty well poop every day and today it's pretty well white. Clay White.

Had my blood work done this morning and called my doc so they're going to check it tomorrow and give me a call.

I guess I'm just freaked out because this is the first time I've had such severe symptoms (aside from the god-awful itch).

Can anyone shed some light as to what may be going on in my body? The nurse seemed to want to have me see my doc as soon as blood results are in. I don't quite understand the urgency because I was always told any medication adjustments would be done over the phone.

I don't want them to stop treatment, it would crush me.
