Hang in there Bob... first 12 weeks are the hardest.. Incevick aka Telaprevir is a bad mammer jammer.. This drug knocked me in the dirt..  after completion of this course of drugs, life was bearable, 3 wks post I am still UND..

as my forum friends  said side no rhyme or reason to the when & what day you're side effects will be at there worst or best.. Age does seem to be a factor with the fatigue for most,  you can do it..

Stay busy even if it's on the computer annoying folks... lol.. and remain positive you will banish or slay the dragon once and for all.. remember you liver is going on vacation even though your not...

all the best P & L MJ

What a shocking experience, first awful rash and then overwhelming fatigue.  Spoke to my doc and we dropped ribavirin to 800 mg qd.  I'm markedly better in spite of a 3 point drop in my hemoglobin.  I actually feel like I can get through this now.  Spread mulch today...shocking!

Don't give up! 12 weeks will pass,
it's not easy but doable.
I am on week 45!
I was so seen restless the first few weeks/months
But eventually you learn to settle into the fatigue.
You can't live without a liver!
Keep up the determination! Giving up is not
An option, only a desire:)
Hope u feel better soon. Get some rest

the episodes of fatigue would only last a few days at a time, with a few days in between. I could handle that. But the problem was the schedule was not published... it just happened whenever it wanted to.

News, Amen to that.

The fatigue will come and go. For me, if I got a good night's sleep (between 8-hr doses), drank plenty of water slowly all day, and ate a decent meal each day the episodes of fatigue would only last a few days at a time, with a few days in between. I could handle that. But the problem was the schedule was not published... it just happened whenever it wanted to. But I stayed busy, did easy workouts at the Y, even went snowboarding once and had to come down off the mountain for a 20 g. snack with my Incivek. Once or twice, at around week ten, I came home from work and collapsed sobbing into my wife's arms. But two days later I was fine. Just don't give up. Put your head down and trudge ahead. In the beginning the blood tests will be frequent, like every two weeks. If you are getting hurt it will show up in the blood levels. So full steam ahead, and kick some virus butt.  Alan

15 years ago I started interferon/ribavirin.  Was a null responder.  The results of the HALT-C trial were not in so I stayed on prolonged ifn.  Never missed a day of work, did great.  Now, 15 years older and on triple therapy with telaprevir.  VL went from 955,000 pretreatment to < 43 on thursday which was day 21.  But the therapy is kicking my ass!  I am horribly fatigued and it goes up and down, generally feel awful.  It has been progressive and I am worried that I will not be able to handle it.  I don't know if this is just the addition of telaprevir or the whole thing.  I just know  that I will not make it to week 12 if this continues.  Has anyone had the fatigue get better.  My rash did.  Trying to hang in but worried.
