I could not believe how bad it got for me. According to my nurse I fell into the 10% of extreme adverse reactions. I spent a week in the hospital and got 6 units of blood. I completed Incevick in the last week of Jan. By the end of Feb. I felt almost normal again and not have missed work in 4 weeks. It does get better after those first 12 weeks.

Mark, since finishing Incivek my fatigue and SOB slightly improved. Now as I reach week 41, I'm gradually getting more, not less fatigued. Back in 06 and 99, I worked every day while on Riba and Interferon. But I was younger, now at 63; I can't spring back as easily. I guess it's up to you, work less and protect yourself from getting run-over by this or stay in the traffic and hope you don't end up road kill. What I find is that when Im really feeling lousy from the drugs, everything else starts to crumble, decision making, temperament, and reasoning. Im misreading others intention (more then usual) and reacting in ways that I regret. Rest is what really helps me stay on track. I can be pretty gentle with things for two or three hours, but to do more I start crumbling. Im sure this isnt what you wanted to hear, most of the time we give folks pep- talks, hope Im not letting you down this is just how it is for me.

Vern

For myself, it got a lot better after the Incivek ended. My energy levels returned to almost normal and my desire to do things returned. Lots of other little problems remained, but my energy level did go up dramatically. Some people have experianced fatigue all the way thru treatment, so maybe I'm just lucky, but it would be the first time.

Hello all,

This is only my second post.  I have had hepc for 8 years, but only started treatment 6 weeks ago.  My viral load was very low to begin with, low thousands, which is one reason I delayed treatment. After 4 weeks it was undetected.  For that I am very pleased.  My question is in regards to the the side effects of incivek specifically if others have noticed any return of energy, strength, or stamina after the 12 week course.  I ask because I am a landscaper by trade, just returning to spring work, and having a great deal of difficulty doing routine tasks without frequent breaks for fear of passing out.  Does It get better after incivek, or will the 6 month program possibly ruin this year completely. I appreciate all the good advise I have discovered on the forum. Good luck to all

Mark

Mark,
I remember your first post because my son
Owns a landscape business!
The fatigue has remained for me YET there
Are days I have more energy than others.
You will have to be aware of the sun and staying
Hydrated. Yes life is better after Invicek. I
Have had to go 48 weeks, on week 45 and 24 weeks
Seems light years ago. I do remember wishing
I could quit at 24 and sad I had another 24 to go.
my doctor told me she has men that work
On roofs and never miss a day of work!!!
I say bless their heart!!!
You have come too far to stop now! Hep C is a serious disease!
Drink and rest as needed. Sleep when u can
6 months will go fast
