Do the shot, live through the uncomfortable sides, repeat. It'll be over before you know it. Good luck.

Hi Brenda, welcome!  That`s good to hear, you`ve got off to a great start then!  So you`re doiing the triple therapy with victrelis (boceprevir) then, if you`re adding the 3rd drug after the first 4 weeks.   Some of our members are doing the triple with incivek (telaprevir), and they start all 3 drugs at the same time, but only have to take the incivek for the first 12 weeks of treatment.

All the best of luck, your young age is on your side!  smile  ~ Jill

I actually feel alright after the injection last night.  My doctor told me at 5 wks I start the 3rd medication.  Do some people get all 3 meds right away and then some people have to wait? Only thing that makes me nervous is that I work every other weekend, so im hoping when I do the shot next wk I feel ok for work!!

Brenda, my experience is that it was a gradual thing. Others had immediate reactions. LOL did they mention your toes falling off and growing a new head LOL?

You might keep in mind that many have gone before and had success. While there may be some seasickness, the journey can still be a trip. Its important to stay in touch with the things you are passionate about. Your energy might dampen some of your enthusiasm but the joy can still be there. One of my passions is being involved in legislative issues surrounding hunting and fishing. Im a frequent flyer at fish and game hearings. And while Ive had to cut back I use other means to stay involved. Figure out a way  to enjoy the voyage (at least 80% of time).

Not too bad for me. Took my shots on Friday night around 8:30 and went to bed by 10. Up for work Saturday morning with a little stomach upset but nothing too bad. I ate my banana every morning and kept moving. Took a nap when I got home from work. It's doable!

Things seemed to level off a little after 2 or 3 weeks.

Good luck!

I hope it went well. It hasn't been too bad for me. I do always take two tylenol on the night I do the injection. That seems to take care of any issues that come up with it. Then I feel very tired for the next two to three days. Then I wait and do it again. Some weeks have been a little worse than others, but it hasn't been too bad. Hope you are doing alright.

My first injection was last night, Friday at 10pm. It was scarier in my mind than in reality. As many times as I have been poked in the last year, I figured I could do it... and I did, and hopefully yours was easier too.

How are you feeling today? Are you on triple treatment or dual? Hope your side effects are minimal and your results are outstanding.

by grace,
Oral

It's different for everyone. The first few shots are the scariest. Not knowing what to expect can be worse than the sides themselves. A lot of people experience flu-like sides. Aches and chills are the most common short term side from the shots. They do get better over time and even get to the point of being a nuisance more than a SX. Drink plenty of water and take a Tylanol before injecting, it helps to manage the sides. But dont take more than a few a day, they can be hard on the liver you're trying to heal.
